The Essex business community is missing something.

A space for ambitious business leaders to come together, build meaningful connections and have a genuine voice in the policies that affect business.

Yes, we’ll talk a little politics. But more importantly, we want to create a forum where business leaders can help shape policy, share ideas and build valuable relationships.

So we’re launching something new.

Join us alongside the Shadow Secretary of State for Business & Trade for the launch of a brand-new Essex business club — created to bridge the gap between business, politics and policymaking.

If you run or lead a business in Essex and think our business community deserves a stronger voice, we’d love you to be part of it from the beginning.

Come along. Make connections. Have your say. Help shape what comes next.

🚨 SAVE ESSEX POLICE 🚨

Essex Police understands our communities — our towns, villages, cities and rural areas.

I believe decisions about policing in Essex should remain local, accountable and focused on the needs of Essex residents.

I’m backing the campaign to say NO to regional mega forces and to keep policing local.

If you agree that Essex deserves its own police force, please sign the petition and share this post with your friends, family and networks. Let’s get the word out across Essex.

Labour’s restructuring could see Essex Police absorbed into a larger regional organisation. That risks moving leadership, priorities and accountability further away

Essex’s tourism and hospitality businesses should not be forced to pay the price for yet another unnecessary Labour tax.

High taxes don’t drive growth; they hold businesses back, put jobs at risk and make Essex less competitive.

Sign my petition to demand that any tourism tax is a decision for the Greater Essex Mayor, not Westminster.

And if I’m Mayor, my position is clear: there will be no tourism tax on people staying in Essex.

Roger Hirst, police, fire and crime commissioner for Essex, said: "In Essex, everyone is equal before the law.

"Antisemitism has no place in our county or anywhere else in our society.

"We are building safe, secure communities where everyone is able to live their lives, practise their faith and prosper without fear of intimidation, abuse or violence.

"I welcome this new £5.6 million investment over the next three years."

Essex Police will receive £5.6m in Government funding to strengthen visible policing and support for Jewish communities across Essex over the next three years.
PFCC Roger Hirst: “Antisemitism has no place in our county. This investment will help protect and support Jewish people while strengthening community cohesion throughout Essex.”

A new era of connectivity for Kent, Essex and the wider South East is moving closer. 🚧🌉

The progress being made on the Lower Thames Crossing is a reminder of what ambitious engineering can achieve — a transformational piece of infrastructure designed for the future.

The arrival of the next-generation tunnel boring technology will help deliver what will become the UK’s longest road tunnel, creating a vital new link beneath the Thames and improving connections between communities, businesses and key economic hubs.

Better connectivity means more than quicker journeys. It means:

✅ Stronger links for businesses and supply chains
✅ Improved access to ports and freight networks
✅ New opportunities linked to the Thames Freeport and wider investment
✅ More reliable connections for commuters, families and communities
✅ Greater opportunities for jobs, skills and growth across the county

For decades, the Thames east of London has relied heavily on the Dartford Crossing. This new crossing represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build the infrastructure needed for the next chapter of economic growth.

A major engineering achievement. A major investment in our future. A better connected county.
