📢 Update on the Future of Local Government in Gloucestershire!

☑️The Government has announced that Gloucestershire will be reorganised into one unitary authority serving the whole of Gloucestershire from 1 April 2028.

☑️This means Gloucestershire’s current district, borough and county councils will be replaced with one council.

☑️ We want to reassure residents that nothing will change overnight. The services you rely on will continue to be delivered as usual, with no immediate changes to how you access them.

☑️ The move forms part of a national review of local government arrangements, aimed at simplifying services, improving efficiency and providing long-term stability for local communities.

☑️ Detailed planning is still underway and councils across Gloucestershire will continue working together collaboratively to agree next steps.

☑️ We are committed to keeping you informed throughout the process and will continue to provide regular updates as plans develop.

Our trees need your help! 🌳

Could you water a tree in your street or local green space? We've had an exceptionally hot and dry growing season so far. Our young trees could use some help to keep them healthy as they get established.

While we water the trees we plant, any extra help you can give would be very welcome.

Top tip: use ‘grey’ water left over from washing, as long as it doesn’t have too much detergent in it.

A busy day at Prestbury Playing fields!

The football pitches are being dug in the damaged areas, ready to be turfed. ⚽️ 🪏

Whiskers coffee compound has been moved around, ready for the summer 🪝🍦☕️
