💚 THE PEOPLE BEHIND SPRINGBANK:£4 💚

Week 1 was £2.
Week 2 was £3.

This week, we're asking for £4.

But this week isn't really about the money. It's about the people.

Behind everything Springbank Community Group CiC does are people who care deeply about our community.

Youth Workers creating safe spaces where young people can talk, laugh, learn and simply be themselves.

Volunteers giving their time to support our Community Food Pantry and Café.

Staff listening to families, responding when someone needs help and finding ways to say “yes, we can help” whenever possible.

And young people themselves — bringing energy, ideas, personalities and talents into our projects and reminding us why this work matters.

Springbank isn't simply a building or a collection of projects.

It's people supporting people.

Your £4 helps us continue creating the spaces, activities, opportunities and support that bring those people together.

And once again, a little can quickly become a lot.

💚BEHIND THE NUMBERS: £3 💚

Last week, we asked what £2 could do.

This week, we're adding just £1.

What can £3 mean to Springbank?

Behind every number we share is a person.

A young person walking through the doors of youth club.

A family accessing our Community Food Pantry.

Someone coming into our café for some company and a friendly face.

A child taking part in an activity, trying something new and making memories.

Our numbers tell us how many people we reach — but they don't always tell the story of what that support means.

£3 could help us put resources into a youth club, provide food and essentials, support a community activity or contribute towards keeping one of our services accessible to someone who needs it.

And those £3 donations quickly add up.

💚 100 people = £300

That's why this campaign isn't about finding one person who can give us hundreds of pounds.

It's about lots of people getting behind their local community organisation and giving a little.

☀️ SUMMER HAF 2026… WHAT A SUMMER! ☀️

And just like that, another summer of HAF at Springbank has come to an end!

Across the summer, we recorded an incredible 873 young people engaged in our programme, with weeks packed full of activities, new experiences, food, friendships and plenty of fun.

🧪 Science experiments
🍓 Food tasting and trying something new
⚽ Sports and games
🎨 Crafts and creative activities
🥗 Healthy meals throughout the programme

For some young people it was about trying something for the first time. For others it was seeing their friends, getting out of the house or simply knowing there was somewhere to go during the holidays.

That's what HAF is all about.

A massive thank you to the staff, volunteers and young leaders who threw themselves into every session, and to the families who trusted us with their young people throughout the summer.

☀️ AND THAT’S A WRAP ON HAF SUMMER 2026! ☀️

Over the summer holidays, we have recorded an incredible 873 young people engaged across our HAF sessions. ❤️

But HAF is about so much more than attendance figures.

Over the past few weeks, young people have enjoyed new experiences, got creative, been active, made new friends, shared healthy meals and, most importantly, had somewhere welcoming and positive to spend their summer holidays.

From themed activity days and sports to trips, games, crafts and plenty of food, it has been a packed summer!

A massive thank you to our staff, volunteers and young leaders who have worked incredibly hard to make every session happen. Your energy, flexibility and commitment to our young people has made this summer what it was.

And to every young person and family who joined us this summer, thank you for being part of it.

☕ OUR COMMUNITY CAFÉ IS GETTING BUSIER!

Visits to the Springbank Community Café during the first four weeks of the summer holidays are up 14% compared with the same period last year.

That increase matters.

The income generated through our café helps support the wider work of Springbank Community Group, which means more people through the doors gives us more opportunities to reinvest into our projects and services.

As we move towards autumn, that additional income will help us continue investing in the work happening right here in our community.

So, whether you've joined us for breakfast, popped in for a coffee or stopped for a chat, thank you.

Every cuppa, every meal and every visit helps us do a little bit more. ❤️☕

🛒 OUR PANTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP

It has been an incredibly busy summer at the Springbank Community Food Pantry, and with more local families turning to us for support, some of our shelves are running low.

We are particularly in need of:

☕ Coffee
🥫 Meatballs, tinned ham & corned beef
🥜 Peanut butter
🥣 Weetabix
🍝 Pasta
🥤 Orange & blackcurrant squash
🍅 Ketchup & brown sauce
🧴 Shampoo & shower gel
🪥 Toothpaste
❤️ Sanitary items

Every donation, whether it's one item or a whole bag, helps us keep our shelves stocked and means we can continue being there for people in our community when they need us.

📍 Donations can be dropped into the Ron Smith Pavilion, Springbank Way, GL51 0LH, Monday to Friday between 9am and 2pm.

🥫 Our Community Food Pantry continues to be needed more than ever.

During the first four weeks of the summer holidays, we have seen demand increase by almost 40% compared with the same period last year.

While national figures suggest food bank use has started to reduce, here in our community we are seeing a very different picture.

For us, this isn’t just about statistics. It’s about making sure local people have somewhere to turn when they need a little extra support. A pantry that is welcoming, accessible and there without judgement.

And the summer isn’t over yet.

We still have several weeks of the school holidays ahead of us, and we expect this figure to continue to grow.

A massive thank you to our volunteers, donors, partners and everyone who continues to support the pantry. Every donation, every food collection and every hour volunteered helps us keep doing what we do. 💛
