Notaries Public in Cheltenham. We have specialists available for a broad range of individual and business services.

Davis Gregory are Solicitors with Notaries Public in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire UK. We have specialist Lawyers available for Family Law, Conveyancing and Wills & Probate. We are not a big, impersonal law firm: our clients’ peace of mind is important to us. You’ll get a professional, friendly service from someone who listens. We have been at 25 Rodney Road since May 1977, when Martin Davis founded Davis & Co to provide a high quality service to individuals and small businesses. Since then we have held true to this vision. In 1987 we were joined by Ticehurst Wyatt and in 1994 by Gregorys, both long-established and respected firms of solicitors who brought to us their experience and heritage. We have continued to grow organically, focusing on doing what we do best and giving our clients what they seek: a personal service by experienced lawyers at a good price. Until 2003 we were a partnership, and since then we have been Davis Gregory Limited.

Buying your first home?

Being asked for lots of documents at the beginning can feel overwhelming, but providing the right information early can help the legal work get underway.

Your solicitor may ask for:

✓ Proof of identity
✓ Proof of your current address
✓ Evidence showing the source of your funds
✓ Your mortgage details, where applicable
✓ Your estate agent’s details
✓ Information about any gifted deposit
✓ Details of an existing Help to Buy ISA or Lifetime ISA, where relevant

If part of your deposit is being gifted, further information may also be required from the person providing it, including identification and evidence showing where the money has come from.

These checks are a normal and important part of the conveyancing process. Exact requirements will depend on your transaction and circumstances.

The sooner the requested information is provided, the sooner your solicitor can begin progressing the legal work.

At Davis Gregory Solicitors, we guide first-time buyers through each stage with clear, practical advice.
