Some of our juniors this weekend just gone attended the JSC weekend activity at Midlands boating station!

As you can see all the junior looked like they had a blast!

What a cold but fantastic day for Swindon & RWB Sea Cadets at the Tadpole Garden Village market! ❄️💙

Despite the chilly weather, our team had a brilliant time meeting the local community, sharing what we do, and raising awareness (and a few smiles too!). A huge thank you to everyone who came over to support us, it really means a lot.

A special shoutout to Junior Cadet First Class Benjamin, who did an amazing job being interviewed by Swindon 24 🎤👏 You represented us brilliantly!

Days like this show the strength of our cadet family – teamwork, resilience, and plenty of enthusiasm, whatever the weather throws at us.

Members of our unit attended the funeral this morning of Chaplain (SCC) Trevor Day RNR to pay our respects for everything that he has done for us over the years.

Trev thank you for all the support you gave to our unit, our volunteers and more importantly our cadets. The amount of people that turned up this morning to pay there respects was something to behold.

RIP sir your duty is done.

⚓ Busy night at Swindon Sea Cadets! ⚓

Last night was a little different at Swindon Sea Cadets as cadets enjoyed a well-earned dress-down night, taking a break from the normal CTP programme.

The evening was all about teamwork, communication and creativity, with cadets split into two teams and challenged to design and build a boat/ship entirely from basic materials.

From planning and problem solving to construction (and plenty of laughs), the cadets threw themselves into a massive team-building exercise and produced some impressive results. 🚢📦

A fantastic way to build confidence, leadership and cooperation — and proof that learning doesn’t always happen in uniform!

Well done to everyone involved 👏

We’re building the next generation in Swindon and with 2026 planning to be a massive year, we need a few brilliant grown-ups behind the scenes. 💙

We’re recruiting volunteers for our Unit Management Team (UMT). If you can spare a little time with jobs like fundraising, treasury, secretary, admin, assisting roles or just want to help when needed you’ll make a big difference to our local cadets.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 6 years of your dedicated service as Chairman, along with being awarded UMT Chair Award Runner Up for 2025–2026.

This award recognises the UMT Chair who, through example and dedication, has contributed most to the aims of the Sea Cadets Corps (SCC) during 2025–2026. A fantastic achievement and thoroughly well deserved.

Swindon’s UMT chair, OIC and XO are in attendance today seeing what exciting things are up and coming for the cadets as well as the volunteers!

A great turn out by the South West Teams!

Our 2026 South West Area Volunteer Conference is underway in Weston-super-Mare.

Delighted to be joined by so many adult volunteers from around the area, for what will be a great day of networking, sharing ideas and looking to the future.

We’re also joined today by Commander Royal Navy Cadet Forces Brigadier Ged Salzano RM, MSSC CEO Guy Holloway, Captain Sea Cadets Captain Hannah Mackenzie RN, MSSC Trustees and SW Area SMT.
