Heat Stroke is life-threatening and very time-critical; Heat Exhaustion can quickly turn into heat stroke without treatment.

Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday we supported Wiltshire Search and Rescue with a large search for a missing person at Sutton Benger, near Chippenham. Team members from SARA Beachley, Tewksbury and Cotswolds all attended and a SARA Sharpness team was stood ready.

Sadly at this time the search remains ongoing.

Today a small team from SARA supported a Gloucestershire Cave Rescue Group exercise, working on the surface (none of that dark, muddy crawling stuff for us) just as we would do for a real cave rescue operation in our patch. Today we helped with both Entry Management (keeping track of who is going in) and ropework at the cave entrance.

It’s lovely to be able to work together with different teams in a seamless manner. Thanks GCRG for inviting us along!
