Chepstow Coastguard Rescue Team, together with the wider Coastguard community, sends our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the tragic incident on the A66 in the early hours of this morning.

Our thoughts are with the families, friends and colleagues of those who have died, and with our colleagues at Cleveland Police following the tragic deaths of two serving officers.

A devastating incident that will be felt across the whole emergency services community and by all those involved in the emergency response.

Attended location in Chepstow reported by first informant, nothing found.

Team relocated to M48 Severn Bridge to goal keep whilst Severn Area Rescue Association - Beachley launched.

SARA Lifeboat made contact with Kayakers who confirmed all well.

Team relocated to Beachley to provide safety advice before being stood down.
