Cheshunt, alongside Hertford on-call, Enfield and Southgate were mobilised to Wormley west end today. This field fire was caused by a bonfire which was being attended with a hose pipe. Floating embers and winds quickly escalated the situation beyond the control of those standing by. The 4x4 nebula from Cheshunt was also mobilised to the incident. Please remember in extremely dry weather that even small fires with the necessary precautions taken can quickly become out of control.
