Exciting Opportunity – Fire Suppression Lead to Launch Our New Fire Suppression Division!
Based in Chester – Serving the North West & North Wales

We’re recruiting a Fire Suppression Lead to build and run our brand-new in-house fire suppression service – a completely fresh discipline for the business.

No more subcontracting: we’re now looking to deliver design, installation, and maintenance directly to clients across the North West of England and North Wales. If you’re based in or around Chester, this could be your chance to own and grow something from the ground up.

What the role involves:
- Full ownership from day one – getting this service launched and running smoothly
- In the early stages, hands-on site work, carrying out servicing and maintenance for our existing clients’ systems
- Leading us through full BAFE accreditation (we’ll support you with our internal team + specialist consultants, but the ultimate responsibility sits with you)
- Building capability across all aspects of fire suppression: design, installation, servicing & maintenance
- Short-term objectives: Secure servicing for current clients, put processes, paperwork and structure in place, and achieve BAFE
- Medium-term: Expand the installation & servicing side with new customers plus recruit and build your own team
- Long-term: Scale this division to sit alongside and complement our existing service offerings

Who we’re looking for:
Broad, hands-on experience across all elements of fire suppression systems – with particular strength on the mechanical side (our current skills gap within the business). You thrive on taking ownership, building from scratch, and rolling your sleeves up.

Location is important: Ideally based in or near Chester or the surrounding North West / North Wales areas for easy access to sites and close team collaboration.

🚨 New ISO Standard Recognises Lithium-Ion Battery Fires as Class L – Time to Update Your Risk Assessment? 🚨

Lithium-ion batteries power EVs, e-bikes, tools, laptops, warehouses and more – but when thermal runaway kicks in, ordinary extinguishers get overwhelmed and fires often reignite dangerously.

Big news: ISO has just published the revision to ISO 3941 “Classification of fires”, introducing a brand-new Class L specifically for lithium-ion battery fires. This follows recommendations from the Fire Industry Association’s Lithium-ion Battery Special Interest Group and reflects the real, growing risks we’re all facing in this battery-driven world.

Class L fires are electrochemical beasts – higher energy density, faster growth, toxic gases, explosion potential and stubborn re-ignition. Treating them like standard Class A, B or electrical fires is no longer good enough.
