Today was my last day in the Post Office, marking the end of a very special chapter and the beginning of life as a retired postmistress. ❤️
It’s been quite a journey, one that I am incredibly proud of, and it’s almost impossible to put into words how much all the heartfelt messages have meant to me.
The beautiful cards, bottles of Prosecco and w**e, multiple bouquets of flowers, and so many other thoughtful gifts and vouchers have been truly overwhelming. I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful for the kindness, generosity and love that have been shown to me.
As I said in my speech at last week’s event in the church hall:
“I will leave with a very full heart, wonderful memories and enormous gratitude for the part you’ve all played in my journey.”
Those words couldn’t be more fitting today.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, supported me over the years, and made my final days so very special. The Post Office has been so much more than a business to me; it’s been a huge part of my life, filled with wonderful people, friendships and memories that I will treasure forever.
I may be closing the door on my working life as a postmistress, but I will carry a little piece of the Post Office and all of you with me. ❤️
With a very full heart, thank you all. 🥂💕
