🛝THE ADLINGTON PLAY AREA CONSULTATION IS NOW OPEN! 🛝

The Parish Council is inviting the young people and families of Wingerworth to give their views on our plans and designs for the new play area.

Below you will find details of the following:

1️⃣ Our plans for Adlington play area.

2️⃣ Designs for the new play area.

3️⃣ How to put forward your views, comments and ideas.

We hope you will enjoy looking through the designs and will take a few minutes to get in touch to tell us what you think.

Your views and ideas will help shape the future of play at Adlington Park!

The consultation is open between 8th June and 28th June 2026.

1️⃣ OUR PLANS FOR ADLINGTON PLAY AREA

The play area at Adlington Recreation Ground is need of a serious upgrade!

The Parish Council is aware that the existing play equipment at Adlington Park is looking tired, worn out and unappealing. We have listened to the community and we know that you want something more fun, modern and exciting to encourage more outdoor play with your friends and family.

Over the last few months, we have engaged with local and national companies to look at options and designs to replace the play equipment. We have also been working hard to find the funding to make this happen.

The Parish Council is now pleased to announce that we have the money and the designs to get this project off the ground.

We now just need to know what YOU think.
_

2️⃣ DESIGNS FOR THE NEW PLAY AREA

You can view the designs for the new play are by visiting https://www.wingerworthparishcouncil.gov.uk/adlington-play-area-consultation

You can also visit our special page by visiting https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590026374052

But before you take a look and send us your comments, we want to tell you a few things...

1. We are keeping the zip wire.

2. We are keeping the basket ball hoop.

3. We are keeping the basket swing and blue climbing frame on the grass area.

4. The children's swings will relocated to the grass area and new toddler swings installed. This will keep the play equipment for 'older children' next to each other.

5. We will be expanding the area covered by wetpour (rubber surfacing) to include more play equipment for younger children.
_

3️⃣ HOW TO PUT FORWARD YOUR COMMENTS, VIEWS AND IDEAS

Now you've seen the designs, we want to know what you think.

We want to know...

1. What score (out of 10) would you give each design❓

2. Which design is your favourite and why❓

3. Is there a particular piece of equipment in one of the designs that you would like to see included in your favorite design❓

4. Is there anything we have missed that you would like to see included❓

5. Is there anything else you want to tell us❓

6. If you want, please tell us your age, whereabouts you live and how often you visit Adlington play area.
_

Here are few ways you can get in touch to give us your comments, feedback and ideas:
