🚲 FREE Bike Marking at both Queen's Park & Somersall Park 🚲

Do you own a bike? Protect it against theft by getting it security marked and registered with BikeRegister completely free of charge by your local SNT officers.

What you need to bring:

1: YOUR BIKE

2: ACCESS TO A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS ( you will need to verify at the time of marking to be added to the register).

Officers will be at Queen's Park and Somersall Park offering free bike marking and registration. BikeRegister is the UK’s national cycle database and allows your bike to be linked directly to you. If your bike is lost or stolen and later recovered, police can quickly identify the rightful owner.

Every Police Force in the UK uses the BikeRegister database to search for stolen & recovered bikes

✅ Increases the chances of stolen bikes being reunited with their owners

Cycle theft can happen anywhere, so taking a few minutes to mark and register your bike is a simple but effective way to keep it protected.

🚨 Off-road bikes? We’re putting the brakes on them. 🏍️💨

Over the last month, officers from Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Team have been out and about across Chesterfield carrying out a number of operations, utilising our Forces Proactive and Bike Team aimed at tackling off-road and nuisance bikes.
And let’s just say… we know there are plenty more where those came from! 👀
We’ll continue to act on information from our communities about where these bikes are being ridden and will keep taking action where appropriate.

📢 We need your help too! If you know where nuisance or off-road bikes are being used, please keep passing that information on to us.

And a little reminder to parents and riders:
⚡ If an e-bike isn’t pedal assisted and can travel at speeds over 15mph, it may not be legal to use on the road or in public places.
So, before that “bargain” e-bike turns into an expensive conversation with us… check the rules! 😉

APPEAL TO TRACE OWNER OF LOST DOG

A Basset Hound was found on Harehill Road, Grangewood at approximately 1400 hours today.

The dog is currently safe and well, and we are keen to reunite it with its owner as soon as possible.

🚔 Community Speed Watch Needs You! 🚔

Are you passionate about making our roads safer and helping to protect your local community?

Community Speed Watch is looking for new volunteers to join our team. Community Speed Watch gives residents the opportunity to work alongside police and partners to help address concerns about speeding vehicles in their area.

No previous experience is needed. Full training and support will be provided. Volunteering is a great way to make a positive difference, meet new people, and help improve road safety for everyone.

By giving a small amount of your time, you can play an important role in encouraging safer driving and protecting residents, pedestrians, and other road users.

Newbold SNT have been conducting evening patrols at Holmebrook Valley Park this evening.

This is following reports of nuisance bikes and Anti-Social Behaviour.

At the time we visited the park we can report there was none of this behaviour.

Officers will continue to monitor this and carry out further patrols in the area.

Newbold Safer Neighbourhood Team officers have been conducting high-visibility patrols at Holmebrook Valley Park. 🌳

Our priority is to address anti-social behaviour and ensure that public spaces remain safe and accessible for all residents. It was a pleasure to engage with visitors to discuss local concerns and provide crime prevention advice.

Please report any suspicious activity or instances of anti-social behaviour to us, as this information helps us to direct our patrols effectively.

This is a great opportunity for Deaf/deaf and hard of hearing people to find out how they can contact the Police, both in an emergency and non-emergency situation.
