VEHICLE SEIZURES AT LOCKOFORD LANE TESCO
Following continued reports from residents regarding anti-social driving and "boy racers" gathering in the area, officers have taken decisive action.
Targeting Lockoford Lane Tesco in Chesterfield—a current local policing priority—we have seized 4 vehicles under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act for anti-social and inconsiderate driving.
We hear your concerns and will not tolerate behaviour that endangers the public, disturbs residents, or turns commercial car parks into racetracks.
A reminder to drivers:
Section 59 powers mean if your driving causes alarm, distress, or annoyance, your vehicle can AND WILL be seized.
Expect recovery fees, storage costs, and potential court action to get your car back.
We will continue proactive patrols in this area.
If you have any information about anti-social driving in your area- Report it via 101 or online using the Derbyshire Police website.

Officers from Newbold SNT have been carrying out Park patrols at Holmebrook Valley Park. This comes following recent reports from local residents regarding antisocial behaviour involving nuisance off road motorbikes and Sur-Ron electric bikes in the area. We know how much distress and danger reckless riding causes to dog walkers and families using the park,
Off road bikes and Sur-Rons are not permitted in public parks or on footpaths. If ridden on roads without insurance, tax, a valid MOT and appropriate driving license, they will be confiscated and crushed.
We rely on your information to map where these riders are operating and where the bikes are being stored. If you see illegal riding please report it to us with as much detail as possible (descriptions of riders, clothing, bike colours and times)
Report non urgent incidents on 101 and 999 in emergencies. You can also contact crime stoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our green spaces safer for everyone.

🚨 Another day, another bike ride cut short… 🚨

On Tuesday 28th July 2026, our ANPR cameras in Newbold flagged a motorbike that was suspected of being cloned.

Not long afterwards, Derbyshire’s Force Proactive Team located the bike near a block of flats in the Old Whittington area. Officers quickly identified the rider, who has now been dealt with for a number of traffic offences.

But the story doesn’t end there…

While dealing with the incident, officers spotted two illegal e-bikes that had been seen the previous day, riding down the road. As neither had insurance, they were both given an all-expenses-paid trip to the police compound. 🚚

We are continuing to tackle the issue of illegal and off-road bikes across our communities. If you know where these bikes are being ridden or stored, we’d love the opportunity to hand the owner our favourite free gift… a seizure notice. 📄😉

If you have any information, please contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team. Your information could help us keep these bikes off our roads and public spaces.
