It was a busy weekend for the Rescue Unit crew, starting with Saturday's Bognor Regis Motor Club Sprint at Goodwood and ending up at Blackbushe Airport for some Sunday fire training.

Kevin, Steve, Rob and Mel took the Rescue Unit to Gurston Down last weekend for the season-opening test day. Officials, marshals and drivers made us very welcome in our spot half way up the hill on a tricky bend - the Karousel. The unit will return in June for a race weekend.

The Unit returned to Manston last weekend for another Safari event organised by the Southern Counties Off Road Club.

The Rescue Unit team has enjoyed a busy 2025, not least in training up a new group of crew members. A big thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time this year and we're looking forward to the new season.

We were delighted to be part of two superb Goodwood Marshals Club Charity Track Days last week. An amazing £24,000 was raised, some of which will fund the Rescue Unit, but most will be going to support the important work of the Goodwood Education Trust and Race Against Dementia.

The Rescue Unit and most of the crew will be attending the Goodwood Marshals Club Charity Track Days at Goodwood Motor Circuit this Thursday & Friday. Do come and say hello, get a tour of the unit and take part in the fabulous silent auction, raising funds for Race Against Dementia & the Goodwood Education Trust.

The Rescue Unit was on station for a new event last weekend - the Southern Counties Off Road Club Safari Plus event at Manston Airfield in Kent. It was a cold one, but very interesting.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue hosted our Rescue Unit crew at Chichester Fire Station on Saturday for another incredibly valuable training session. This time the challenge was to extricate from a car lying on its side. Huge thanks to the Fire Station staff for sharing their skills and hospitality.

The unit was on duty at the motor circuit for Saturday's Tunbridge Wells Motor Club sprint event. One early call-out required no action, giving us time for some canine attention over lunch...
