We were delighted to welcome ex to speak with our WSCC PASS study programme students about their upcoming work experience placements.
Students had the opportunity to learn more about the company, gain a clearer understanding of what to expect, and ask questions to help build confidence ahead of their placements. Opportunities like this are invaluable in preparing our young people for the world of work.

📚 As Adult Learning is now part of WSCC’s Library Service, we love supporting learners to explore their local library. You’ll often find us reading together or helping new learners sign up for their library card.

💬 Strengthening English skills opens doors: improved wellbeing, deeper community belonging, supporting friends and family, gaining nationally recognised qualifications, and becoming work‑ready for further education, volunteering or employment.

Arriving in the UK as a refugee from Afghanistan, she joined our Pre‑Entry class quietly and with very limited English. Over the term, her confidence has grown beautifully — and now she’s giving back to her community through volunteering.
