Thank you to everyone who came along to The Guildhall yesterday for the City Wide Wedding Showcase. Even with the grey weather outside, The Guildhall was beautifully light and airy, and it was wonderful to meet so many couples planning their weddings.

We hope you enjoyed looking around the historic, Grade I listed venue, meeting wedding suppliers and picking up ideas for your big day.

This Sunday 25 January, as part of Chichester’s Citywide Wedding Open Day, we’ll be opening The Guildhall’s doors to couples planning their wedding.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to explore this historic Grade I listed venue, meet our Events team, and chat to a range of wedding suppliers to help shape your ideas for the day.

We’ll also be joined by a registrar from West Sussex County Council’s Ceremonies team, who can talk you through the practicalities of getting married.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at The Guildhall Open Morning last Thursday 👋

It was fantastic to welcome around 20 visitors, all keen to take a look inside this beautiful Grade I listed building in the heart of Priory Park.

The Guildhall has seen centuries of history – from its time as a Franciscan friary to a county court, armoury store, and even a local museum. Today, it’s a stunning setting for weddings, memorials and community events.

The building isn’t often open to the public, but once a month you can step inside and explore its fascinating past for yourself...

If you’ve ever walked past The Guildhall and wondered what’s inside, come along to our next open morning on Thursday 4 December, 10-11.30am – we'd love to see you there!

See inside this incredible Grade I listed building and explore centuries of history.

Open to the public from 10:00 am - 11:30 am on the first Thursday of every month, The Guildhall has been the site of fascinating events over its time.

Built by the Franciscans in the 1270s, this historic site witnessed the trials of the infamous Hawkhurst Gang of smugglers and the artist and poet William Blake. It later served as Chichester’s town hall and museum.

Entry is free, with donations welcomed. Drop in between 10:00 am - 11:30 am.
