Exciting news...we are recruiting volunteers
If you have been thinking about giving a little of your time to make a real difference in your local community, now is your chance. We are looking for warm, passionate volunteers to join Home-Start Central Lancashire, supporting families across Chorley, Preston, South Ribble and West Lancashire.
What you'll need:
✅ Available for a minimum of 2 hours per week for at least 6 months
✅ Willingness to complete a 2-week induction training course
✅ Happy to undertake a DBS check
✅ Must be over 18
In return, you'll gain new skills, build your confidence, meet brilliant people and know that your time is changing lives across Lancashire.

A reminder to our families! Remember to update your Child Benefit and Universal Credit accounts with the details of your school leavers' further education or training to make sure you keep receiving payments from HMRC.

Has your child recently received their results? 📣

If they’re staying in education or training next year, you’ll need to update your Child Benefit claim on the HMRC app or online by 31 August.

Our weekly Family Group session returns this Thursday, 9:45–11:15 am, and we'd love you to join us.

If you're a Chorley family with a child under 19 that you receive Child Benefit for, and you're experiencing an immediate crisis affecting your ability to afford essentials, you may be eligible for support through the Crisis and Resilience Fund.
