🚨🚨 CALL OUT 🚨🚨

Responders are en route to Creamfields to clear muddy car parks.

If you are stuck in the car parks we will try to get you out.

Step 1: find your towing eye. Usually located with your spare wheel in the boot, might be in your glovebox or a hidden storage cubby. If you can’t find it, Google is your friend. Don’t have one??? That’s annoying, we will still do our best to safely get you moving, but you’ll be waiting longer.

Step 2: attach your towing eye. On one side of your front bumper, there will be a small cut out 1-2”. Pop that out and screw your towing eye in. The thread might be reversed, so turn anti-clockwise to tighten.

Step 3: wait. We will get to you when we can. You might not be helped based on how long you’ve been waiting. It could be safer for all involved to move your neighbours out of the way before we help you.

Our volunteers will check your tow eye and give you instructions before we start.

This is a FREE service to you… that being said, we are a charity and accept donations.

It’s nearly Eclipse time… 6:13-8:04 ish

Today’s solar eclipse is an amazing thing to see, but please don’t be tempted to stare at it, even when the Sun is mostly covered.

Looking directly at the Sun can cause permanent damage to your eyes. The retina can be burned by the intense sunlight, causing blurred or distorted vision or permanent blind spots.

The scary part? You might not realise you’ve damaged your eyes until several hours later.

If you’re watching it, use proper eclipse glasses/solar viewers that are specifically designed for looking at the Sun. Don’t look directly at the sun.

Enjoy the eclipse — just don’t let today’s spectacular view leave you with a permanent reminder! 👀☀️

We’ve been a bit busy over the past few weeks. We are approaching week 3 of our ongoing fire fighting assistance in Longdendale along side Derbyshire 4x4 Response for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service & United Utilities.

Last weekend we had a Training Day for new recruits and ongoing CPD for some of our seasoned Responders, then training up one of our new Controllers. Thanks to Myerscough College & University Centre for use of their off road track.

This weekend our Fundraising & PR team are at the Astle Steam fair!

Starting today, and continuing for the foreseeable future, our Responders are out on shift with United Utilities.

We have been tasked with transporting staff and equipment into wildfire-affected areas across the moors.

This will be a daily operation until sufficient rainfall has reduced the fire risk and conditions become safer.

We’re proud to be supporting the ongoing response and helping ensure access to areas that remain difficult to reach.

These fires have had a significant impact on our local moorland, and our teams will continue supporting the response for as long as we are needed.
