Chulmleigh were mobilised this morning along with a crew from South Molton to reports of a vehicle stuck in floodwater at bridge reeve.
On arrival it was confirmed a driver and passenger were still in the vehicle

A crew waded out in floodwater rescue PPE and assisted them from their car and led to a place of safety.

Ever thought about becoming an On-Call Firefighter? ๐Ÿ’ช
Weโ€™re on the lookout for local legends to join our crew! This is a paid role, and full training is provided โ€“ so no experience needed.

๐Ÿ”ฅ The reality is: sometimes our fire engine canโ€™t respond because we donโ€™t have enough crew. One more person could make all the difference.

Whether you're looking for a new challenge, extra income, or a way to give back to your community โ€“ weโ€™d love to chat. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ฉ Message us directly here on Facebook to find out more โ€“ no pressure, no commitment, just a conversation.

Be the reason the engine rolls out.

We have been experiencing a high number of calls following the heavy rain in Devon and Somerset earlier today, with more rain expected to sweep across the area this evening.

Water levels are likely to keep rising, with roads becoming flooded. Please do not drive through floodwater, especially where warning signs have been put in place.

Just 30cm of flowing water can make a vehicle stuck or even sweep it away.
