Just to say many thanks to the Church Stretton Town Council for the use of the house next to the Silvester Horne Institute where the Church Stretton Fire Firefighters used it to carry out an exercise simulating a domestic house Fire where we filled it with smoke and put some casualties inside for our firefighters to rescue.
Having the use of a property like this gives us the opportunity to practice for anything real which might be thrown at us, so many thanks again from the Church Stretton Fire Station.

Just a note to be careful putting your fire ash into the recycling bins. Please make sure it's completely cooled down if doing so. Had an incident this evening where the bins caught fire due to the hot ash where the bins were against the house which then the fire affected part of the property as well

Just been out to a building fire incident this morning along with Minsterley Fire Station to a business premises in Picklescott where an external electric meter box caught fire spreading through the wiring and timber frame structure of the property.
Had to cut away alot of the timber cladding and support frame work to make sure all wiring and timber had been exposed and extinguished with dry powder extinguishers due to live cables still, with National Grid attending to isolate electric supply for us. πŸš’

Steele’s Family Bakery were so very kind last night in letting us carry out an incident exercise at there new production unit where we simulated a Hazmat incident involving a chemical spillage with casualties inside to rescue.

Many thanks again for your kindness and for the donuts afterwards that was kind and very much appreciated after the drill, which we can highly recommend πŸ˜‹ πŸš’

Busy day yesterday with 3 incidents on the bounce with us being out all afternoon/evening.
First call was to a property fire along Shrewsbury Road, once that was dealt with we were then called straight after to assist other appliances at a large open field and woodland fire of 20 hectares in size, then on our way back just got into Stretton and were called to another incident on the Longmynd, another family having an open fire/BBQ in the area which National Trust don't allow so we had to deal and extinguish that one along with advice given πŸš’

We went out to an RTC incident today along with crews from Craven Arms Fire Station Much Wenlock Fire Station & Wellington Fire Station where a HGV lorry had collided with a car and hit a building on the B4368 in Beam Bridge.
On arrival the male driver of the HGV was still trapped inside the vehicle due to the dashboard trapping his legs, so crews got to work on extraction.
To make the incident more challenging the HGV had low air brake tank pressure, which when low the brakes will automatically engage, so to move the vehicle back from the building we were assisted by a local farmer with his Manitou to lift the vehicle and move it away from the building where we could then release the driver with our Holmatro cutting equipment who was still talking, laughing, conscious throughout with no serious injuries but went to hospital for a check over.
Excellent team working from all crews, Police officers and Ambulance crews on scene along with the local farmer, with a great outcome to this challenging incident.
All photos approved for sharing.

Were asking people to think twice about having a garden bonfire, just a small spark from it can cause so much damage and heartache for everyone.
We've just got back from an incident where the occupier lit a small bonfire which spread to the neighbours shed and fence, also spread to an electric pole burning the overhead power lines, so everyone is without electricity now.
All caused from a small garden bonfire, so please think about it in this hot dry spell were going through πŸš’

Just completed another medical rescue up the Cardingmill Valley this afternoon, this time where a school trip had visited the area and a young 13 year old lad had falllen on the hillside and broken his leg. Working alongside Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd NT and the WMAS service who had stabilised the casualty, we then managed to carry him down the hillside to where the ambulance was waiting to transport him to Telford hospital.
Another incident with good team working throughout on this successful rescue.
And at the end the incident the National Trust were kind enough to give us ice creams all round which was very much appreciated in the warm weather were having, so many thanks to them πŸš’ πŸš‘
