Before writing novels, Simon was a very successful scriptwriter working on shows like The Bill, Silent Witness, Eastenders and many more.

Simon will talk about his journey to writing crime fiction, including his years working on television drama, and then talk about his bestselling crime series.

There will be the opportunity to purchase signed copies of some of his books at the end of the talk.

As we officially welcome the swifts back into the town (with the help of the fantastic Julie Cowley!) here are a few facts about them you may not know...

- Swifts can migrate up to 14,000 miles away to their feeding grounds in Sub-Saharan and Central Africa.
- They can travel between 350 to 500 miles a day!
- Swifts hold the record for the longest continuous time in flight! Non breeding swifts can remain on the wing for roughly 10 months.
- They are sadly on the UK's Red List of Birds for Conservation Concern, which means they need our help!

Please email [email protected] if you can join the team counting swifts and checking on nest sites, as well as finding out about other ways you can help these amazing birds.
