🚔 Team 2 have had a busy week! 🚔

Over the last week, Team 2 of the Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Team have been busy locating a number of wanted people, resulting in 5 arrests. 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

First up was a male wanted for failing to appear at court after committing shoplifting offences around the town. He was arrested and remanded in police custody to appear at court the following day, with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) also applied for.

The second male was also wanted for failing to appear at court after being charged with shoplifting offences. He has now been arrested and remanded to face the courts, with another CBO requested.

A further male was arrested after committing 5 shoplifting offences in the town centre. He was charged, with another CBO requested… although he clearly didn’t fancy waiting around to find out the conditions, as he very quickly breached the order and was arrested again! 🤦‍♂️

The fifth arrest was of a male who has also failed to appear at court after having been charged for a number of shoplifting offences.

Then came the slightly more adventurous part of the week…

Following a media appeal for wanted male Adam Saunders, the team found themselves playing a rather literal game of cat and mouse. This involved swims in the brook and painful encounters with bramble bushes…and yes, we know, it’s giving hot fuzz vibes🌿😂

The team finally caught up with Saunders, who had taken hiding to the next level by settling into a teepee in the woods. 🏕️

We are very pleased to update that Saunders has now been arrested for a domestic related assault offence and failing to appear at court after his previous arrest for breaching a closure order on a property in Cirencester.

A busy week for Team 2, with plenty of arrests and apparently, an unexpected introduction to wild swimming and bushcraft! 👮‍♂️🌿🏕️

There will be an increased police presence in Fairford tomorrow (Saturday 15 August) as part of an operation to facilitate a planned demonstration.

A static demonstration is due to be taking place outside RAF Fairford from 1pm to 3pm.

Our colleagues at Gloucestershire Council Council’s Highways department will be putting several road closures in place for the safety of everyone involved.

Local residents are advised that there may be disruption during the closures and more information on the roads which will be impacted can be found here: https://orlo.uk/jXoj1 .

We fully respect the fundamental democratic right of being able to protest and we have a long history of facilitating peaceful demonstrations.

While we will enable lawful peaceful protest, we must also balance peoples’ rights of freedom of expression and assembly, with those of the wider public to go about their personal and professional life without disruption.

As a result, we will not hesitate in taking action against anyone who commits any unlawful act.

Officers have been liaising with the organisers of the demonstration and a wide range of local and national partners. This liaison will continue throughout the event and afterwards.

Anyone who has relevant information is encouraged to call police on 101.

We'd like to thank all those that turned up yesterday, 8th August 2026, to our two bike marking events we held at Bourton on the Water and Cirencester

Over the two events we had over 60 cyclists turn up and take advantage of the scheme and as a result their bicycle details are now registered for free on 'Bike Register' which will help Police and other agencies reunite owners with their property if the need arises

If you missed the opportunity to come and see us yesterday, keep an eye on our page and via our Community Alert messaging where we hope to carry out another event soon

A prolific shoplifter who was arrested and the end of July 2026 and charged with multiple shoplifting offences has been arrested again after continuing to target local businesses while on bail.

Following further reports of shoplifting, officers from the Cotswolds Neighbourhood Team have arrested the male today. He has since been charged with the additional offences and remanded in police custody, due to appear in court tomorrow.

We remain committed to tackling retail crime and supporting our local businesses. We will continue to pursue those who repeatedly target shops and cause harm to our communities.

We're investigating the theft of a trailer from a property in the Cotswolds earlier this week, and are appealing for anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Unknown offenders in a vehicle forced entry to private land in Paxford before stealing an Ifor Williams livestock trailer and electrical cabling from a barn.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 6pm on Wednesday 22 July and 3pm on Thursday 23 July.

We've conducted multiple enquiries into the theft and are now asking anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area during that timeframe to contact police.

You can contact police by completing the following form and quoting reference 53260062729: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/

You can also submit information by calling police on 101

Cirencester Neighbourhood Policing Team have today arrested our latest suspect linked to a series of shoplifting offences which have been occurring in Cirencester recently.

The male in question was located in the town centre earlier this morning due to multiple thefts which have been reported to us this month. They have been interviewed and charged and are now appearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court at the beginning of September.

As part of the charges which have been brought against the male, we have also applied to the Court for a Criminal Behaviour Order in which we will be seeking a formal ban from retail premises in the town to help prevent further offences being committed and to try and ensure retailers aren't falling victim to this type of offence repeatedly

This has been achieved due to close working between ourselves, local retail premises and the Cirencester Safe scheme. This scheme has been set up as part of a wider scheme called Gloucester City Safe which links retail premises directly to local Police, ensuring officers are aware of the incidents as they happen and can react quickly to whats being reported.
