We hope you have had a lovely summer break and are looking forward to the new academic year starting. As a reminder the Autumn Term starts for the new EYFS cohort only, on Wednesday 2nd September, at the times previously sent out by email communication for the different groups.

The remainder of the school (ALL students from Year 1 - Year 6) will return at 8:30am on Thursday 3rd September. Remember, school finishes at 3:15pm. Students will only be permitted to leave early if evidence of an appointment is provided. The school timings changed at the beginning of September 2025. We were lenient last year while you adjusted, however, this will not be able to continue this academic year.

The school gates open at 8:30am each morning and students should be in class via the playground before 8:45am when the gates close. Again, last academic year we had a rise in the number of late students each day. Please let us try to keep this number as low as possible this year.

Last night the tenth Tendring Youth Awards were held at the Princes Theatre and what a successful event it proved to be for Team HP!

Evie S, Yr6, was runner up in the Young Carers category and Reiva T, also Yr6, was the winner!
Both girls received this special recognition for the care and support that they give to a parent, and for their own personal growth along the way.

Our Young Tree Champions were also runners up in the Environmental Initiative category for turning their learning into lasting action by creating a wildlife garden and planting numerous trees.

Then, just as we thought the evening was drawing to an end, we were delighted to hear that Mrs Hall & her Young Tree Champions were the proud winners of the TYA Committee’s Special Recognition Award in celebration of their work towards reducing climate change, supporting sustainability, promoting well being and maintaining their Beacon Award Status! What a lovely surprise!

We are excited to be receiving a visit this Monday from Nigel Spencer, MBE, who just so happens to be His Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenant! As a former Tree Champion he has asked if he can come and see for himself the work that Mrs Hall and the children have been doing for the environment.

Congratulations to all those involved, and thank you for representing Holland Park so beautifully.

We know there is massive excitement surrounding the upcoming Mexico vs. England world cup football match! Because the game is scheduled at a time that makes it difficult for families to watch live, we have a solution that ensures no one misses out on the fun—and everyone gets a good night's sleep.

Please ensure your children get to bed at their usual time on Sunday night. There is absolutely no need for them to stay up late, as we will be hosting a special replay screening of the match on Monday morning at 9:00 AM right here at school!

This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience the excitement, cheer on their team, and share the atmosphere of a major game safely in class alongside their friends and teachers.

Here are a few quick details for Monday morning:

Normal Attendance: School registration will take place at the usual time. Please ensure your child is in school promptly so they don't miss the kick-off!

Show Your Colours: To add to the stadium atmosphere, students are welcome to wear an England or Mexico football shirt, or their team's colours, instead of their usual school uniform top.

A Good Night's Rest: We want everyone energised and ready to cheer, so a normal Sunday night routine is highly recommended!

We are really looking forward to a brilliant, shared community morning. Thank you for your support in getting the children to school on time and ready for a great game.

Warm regards,

Thank you for your support during last week’s hot weather, when we relaxed our usual school uniform expectations to help keep the children comfortable.

As the temperatures are expected to be cooler this week, we will be returning to our usual school uniform policy.

We would be grateful if children could attend school in their normal uniform from Monday.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Please ensure your child brings in a water bottle during these hot summer days.
