Our latest case study features a recent project in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, where Solareye80 Bat Hat ground lights were used to improve visibility along a newly rejuvenated active travel footway and cycle path.

The project required a durable, low-maintenance solution that could be installed without damaging tree roots, while meeting accessibility and environmental requirements and delivering value for money.

Got an unbound path in need of wayfinding demarcation? No problem.

Our unbound installation method means our solar powered ground lights can be installed in more than just asphalt surfaces, making them an ideal solution for parks, trails, heritage sites and rural pathways - especially in locations where protecting natural habitats is essential.

How great it was to be joined by so many people at last week’s webinar on balancing lighting requirements with ecological protection.

A big thank you to our presenter, Will, for sharing practical insights and real-world examples of how low impact, solar powered lighting can support both safety and the preservation of natural ecosystems.

We’d also like to thank Lighting Reality Ltd. for hosting the session.
If you’re looking to learn more about our range of ecological solar lighting, or how they could support your next project, feel free to get in touch.

A great read from DarkSky International on the vital role bats play in ecosystems around the world and why protecting the night from light pollution helps them thrive: https://darksky.org/news/bats-depend-on-darkness-heres-why-protecting-the-night-sky-matters/

If you need to light an area where bats are present, it’s important to choose solutions that minimise disruption.

Our ecologically sensitive solar ground lights are recognised by both the Bat Conservation Trust and the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management as a suitable mitigation method.

DarkSky is proud to team up with Bat Conservation International to celebrate Bat Appreciation Day on April 17, which falls during International Dark Sky Week.
