📄 A survey has been launched to find out which areas matter most to the public when it comes to improving safety in the city centre.

Operation Reclaim is a collaborative multi-agency project to solve the biggest problems affecting Nottingham City Centre including youth ASB, drug dealing, aggressive begging, rough sleeping, weapon-carrying, illegal e-bikes and retail crime.

🏙️ Whether you live in the city centre or just visiting to work or meet up with friends, we want to hear from you to make sure we are putting our resources into the areas causing you the biggest concerns.

⏰ The survey only takes a few minutes to fill out, but must be completed by 19 June.

⚠️ Water Safety Reminder During Warm Weather ☀️💧
With the recent spell of warm weather, local officers have been speaking to a number of individuals who have been entering and playing in open water areas over the past few days.
While it may seem like a good way to cool down, entering rivers, lakes, canals or reservoirs can be extremely dangerous.
❗ Key risks to be aware of:
• Cold water shock – Even on hot days, water temperatures can be dangerously low, causing your body to go into shock.
• Strong currents and hidden hazards – Debris, weeds, and uneven ground can trap or injure swimmers.
• Sudden drops in depth – Water can quickly become much deeper than expected.
• Slippery edges and unstable banks – Increasing the risk of falling in unexpectedly.
• Difficulty getting out – Many locations do not have safe exit points.
🚫 These areas are often not monitored and are not safe for swimming.
✅ Advice:
• Stick to designated swimming areas with lifeguards where possible
• Never enter the water alone
• Avoid jumping or diving into unknown waters
• Keep an eye on children and young people at all times
We understand the temptation to cool off during hot weather, but your safety is our priority. Please think carefully and make safe choices.
If you see someone in trouble, call 999 immediately.

We’re currently seeing an increase in calls about general noise, such as loud music, garden gatherings, or neighbour disturbances. While we understand these situations can be frustrating, many noise concerns are not police matters and are usually best dealt with by your local council.

Your local council’s environmental health team has the powers to assess and take action where needed.

There are some circumstances where police involvement may be necessary, such as if noise is linked to anti-social behaviour in a public place, or if there is evidence of crime or an immediate risk to safety.

By contacting the right service first, you can help ensure your issue is resolved more quickly and keep the 101 and 999 lines free for those who need them most.

👉 For more information on nuisance noise and what to do, visit: https://orlo.uk/TdgW0

🔎 Find your local council page here: https://orlo.uk/nYRol

📞 Always call 999 in an emergency, where there is a threat to life or crime in progress.

Thank you for your understanding.

We are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Clifton.

Reports came in that the victim, a 30-year-old man, was involved in a dispute with an unknown man following a disagreement between two children.

A man – described as dual heritage, between 45-50 years of age with light-coloured hair – has then punched the victim in the face.

The incident happened in Sunninghill Park on 22 March around 5pm.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who was in the surrounding area and saw what happened, and who may have CCTV footage, to get in touch.

PC Beth Wharmby said: “This kind of violence has no place in Nottingham – thankfully, the victim has not sustained any serious injuries.

“We are determined to get to the bottom of what happened here and would urge any witnesses to come forward.

“I would also encourage anyone who was in area of the time of the incident with CCTV footage to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 481 of 22 March 2026, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
