Willow Weaving Workshops
The Ribble Valley Sculpture Trail has recently focused on the maintenance and future care of the willow shelter. In spring, the structure received heavy pruning to encourage strong new growth and prepare it for further weaving later in the year. This seasonal work will help keep the shelter healthy, safe and looking its best as part of the trail.

The new willow growth will be ready to work with in November, when willow weaver Julie Livesey will be invited to help weave the fresh material back into the shelter. This will support the ongoing maintenance of the piece while also preserving the traditional skills involved in caring for living willow structures.

Alongside this maintenance work, Julie is holding free willow weaving sessions during the summer. These sessions will give local people the opportunity to learn the basic skills of willow weaving in a friendly, hands-on setting. Participants who enjoy the activity may be invited to return later in the year to support the team with weaving the new growth into the willow shelter.

YOU ARE WARMLY INVITED to our special afternoon of community share and performance!

Movement to Music Grindleton begun 18 months ago, with the support of LPM Dance's Neuro-Moves programmes and funding from Parkinson’s UK, then the ICB (NHS) and currently the National Lottery Community Fund.

Our class, housed in the beautiful space of Grindleton Pavilion, has been offering movement to music and dance to all those living with Parkinsons’ and other neurological conditions and their community, and steadily grown in strength and numbers, from our shy beginnings of 3 members to 12 and counting.

We wish to celebrate!

We would like to share our achievement and celebrate our commitment to continue our presence in the community with you all, and show you what this is all about!

The members of Movement to Music are creating a special performance to both share the spirit of our class and tell a story, of finding movement, connection, voice, validation and community.

We are also FUNDRAISING as our current funding term is coming to an end and we are fast at work to provide this amazing growing resource with the chance to continue, and to benefit the whole community.
