We'll be closed next week for a holiday, back on the 7th, but if you need a custom slate hearth, window cill, worktop etc, turnaround is STILL within a week. But only once we're back. On the 7th. Of September. You're paying attention, right?

We just need to know what you want, some rough overall dimensions and a postcode for delivery.

As per the video, like a sad sap (ahem, self employed), I will be replying to emails whilst we're away.

It's nearly weekend! And we have one of this week's custom slate hearths about to be collected and off to it's new home.

Really pleased with this one; the customer wanted a piece as plain as possible and we were able to select this one for him. Usually, our slate is more likely to have big spectacular patterns, but if this is what you want, we will try to find you one.

So, if you need a custom piece of slate for a hearth, window cill, worktop, etc etc, we're able to deliver anywhere in the country, with turnaround inside a week.

A new video, woohoo! First one in a while, because, well, it's summer time and we've been chillin'. What?

So, here you go, I've been cleaning and sealing some custom slate hearths and I thought I'd show you.

Yes, it is pretty tedious, and barely informative, but heck, it pays the bills.

And if you want a custom piece of slate, for a hearth, window cill, worktop or even a little plinth thing, give us a call, drop us a message, and we'll aim to get back to you the same day. Or maybe the following day, if we're out. Or in a beer garden somewhere.

I just realised I hadn't updated the page since saying we were shut for a holiday back in June, oops. We're still here! And we've still got plenty going on.

I've got a bunch of pics of recent bits and pieces we've sent out, which I'll b**g out over the next week or so (i.e when I remember) and they've gone literally all over, with destinations such as Southampton, Isle of Man, Edinburgh, Ipswich and Inverness (and onwards to the Western Isles), along with our local market all around Lancashire, Yorkshie and Cumbria. Phew!

Here's a little taster of some of them.

And we're still turning round all custom work within a week. And if you ask really nicely, we might even send out a free sample piece.

Holiday shut down!

We're closed from today, Friday 5th June, to Wednesday 17th for a family holiday. We'll be checking emails whilst we're away, because we're sad like that. Or dedicated, you decide.

Another stunning custom slate hearth coming out of the workshop this morning.

This one has been cut to the customers very specific requirements, is honed (polished) and from our 30mm thick graphite slate.

Turned around within a week and on it's way to Dundee this afternoon!

We managed ANOTHER 5* review! And this one with a bit of a tale to it.....

On the day our customer was due to receive their delivery, we received this message from our haulier:

"I’m afraid we managed a mix up at our depot last night and the wrong label was put on this pallet, meaning it went out to someone who was expecting a large bag of cockles and your customer has instead received said cockles.
I’ve spoken with the delivery depot who will pick up the incorrect goods so they won’t be inconveniencing your customer and we are entering a reroute for your pallet to get to her for tomorrow"
