We have received reports of individuals illegally fishing on the protected waters at Creswell Crags this evening and within recent days.

Please be reminded that Creswell Crags is protected site of special scientific interest. Fishing on protected land without permission is criminal offence under the Theft Act and Wildlife protection legislation.

We kindly ask members of public refrain from fishing on this land and to respect the local environment and wildlife.

Where possible our Safer Neighbourhood and Derbyshire Rural Crime Team will be carrying out increased patrols. If you witness any suspicious activity or illegal fishing please report it on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our local heritage sites safe.

I 🚨

PC Staniforth of the Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Team has been working collaboratively with District Council for the last few months to combat the persistent anti-social behaviour, unauthorised access, theft and damage that has been occurring at the vacant East Clune Care Home.

On 19 August, 2026 representatives from Bolsover District Council attended a court hearing where a Judge granted a Full Closure Order under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 lasting until 19 November 2026.

The use of this legislation in these circumstances is not routine and this innovative utilisation demonstrates the strength of partnership working between Bolsover District Council, Derbyshire Police and other agencies.

The Order prohibits all unauthorised persons from entering or remaining within the premises and gives Police powers of arrest should anyone breach its conditions.

Whilst out on pro active patrol in Clowne, PC Hempsey and Sgt Molloy were given a headache after driving behind a vehicle that smelled strongly of Cannabis.

The vehicle was stopped on Rotherham Road and both the occupants and the vehicle were searched.

A quantity of cannabis was located on the passenger of the vehicle and he will be dealt with for the offence of Possession Of A Class B Drug.
