A productive afternoon at Cahonas HQ

We’ve been busy putting together another batch of our You’ve Got This Cancer Care Packs, ready to head to the Beatson this Friday.

They’re packed with practical bits and pieces to make treatment that little bit easier, but there’s something just as important inside too, a reminder that there’s support out there and nobody has to go through testicular cancer alone.

Sometimes it’s the small things that make a difficult day a little easier.

Next stop, the Beatson. 💙

Most know how to check the football scores.

Most know how to check their tyre pressure.

But ask how to check their testicles…Suddenly the room goes quiet.

Checking yourself takes around a minute. That one minute could save your life.

Know your normal. Check once a month. If something changes, get it checked.

26.2 miles is a long way.

But it’s nothing compared to the journey faced by someone hearing the words: “You have testicular cancer.”

We’re looking for a small team of runners to take on the TCS London Marathon 2027 for Cahonas Scotland.

You’ll get a free place.

In return, you’ll help us reach more young men with life-saving education, support more people through diagnosis and treatment, and make sure nobody faces testicular cancer alone.

“I didn’t want to add that extra worry.”

When Nathan first noticed something wasn’t right, he kept it to himself. He didn’t want to worry his family. He didn’t want to burden his friends. He didn’t want to add to anyone else’s stress.

It’s something we hear time and time again from men affected by testicular cancer.

Many face appointments, scans, treatment and uncertainty feeling they have to carry it all alone. The reality is that a diagnosis doesn’t just affect physical health. It can impact confidence, relationships, mental wellbeing and the ability to ask for help when it’s needed most.

That’s why Cahonas Scotland does what we do. From our Check In Room and peer support activities, to one-to-one conversations and our online community, we’re creating spaces where people affected by testicular cancer can talk openly, share experiences, and connect with others who understand.

"I just didn't want to do it anymore."

Testicular cancer is often described as one of the most treatable cancers, and thankfully survival rates are high. What is talked about less often is the impact treatment can have on someone's mental wellbeing.

In this clip from Check One Two, Ronan reflects on reaching the final days of chemotherapy and feeling completely exhausted, physically and mentally.

Behind every diagnosis is a person trying to navigate fear, uncertainty, treatment, recovery, and everything that comes with it. It's why support matters.

Whether that's a conversation, peer support, a podcast episode, or simply knowing someone understands what you're going through, nobody should have to face cancer alone.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Taylor Crawford, who took on the Edinburgh Marathon in support of Cahonas Scotland, raising an amazing £1,298.24!�
After being diagnosed with testicular cancer last year, Taylor went from discovering a lump, through surgery and treatment, to crossing the finish line just months later. His journey is a powerful reminder of why awareness, early detection and support matter.�
One thing Taylor told us has always stuck with us: "I wish I was aware of you guys when I first found the lump." Today, thanks to Taylor's incredible efforts, more people will be.�

A massive thank you to Todd and Sian Whiteford for taking on the London Marathon in support of Cahonas Scotland.

Together they raised an incredible £6,237 to help us continue our life saving work and provide support to those affected by testicular cancer.

As a two-time testicular cancer survivor, Todd knows better than most why awareness, education and support matter. We’re incredibly grateful that he and Sian chose to take on this huge challenge for us.

We’re also hugely thankful to The Good Coffee Cartel, who supported their fundraising by launching a special edition Cahonas coffee.

Todd has been a fantastic supporter of Cahonas for many years and we couldn’t be more grateful to both him and Sian for everything they’ve done. From all of us at Cahonas, thank you. 💙
