Our next community Carers Café will take place on Thursday 29 October, from 2.30pm – 4pm in the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel at NHS Golden Jubilee 💜

The Carers Café offers a relaxed, informal setting for people caring for someone living with dementia, as well as friends and family. Come along for a cuppa, a chat and peer support with others who understand what it is like to be a carer.

Flu hits hard, and for some, it hits harder. Last winter, nearly 5,000 people were admitted to hospital for flu among those aged 18 and over in Scotland. Getting vaccinated is the best way to help protect yourself and reduce the risk of catching and spreading flu this winter.

Executive Director of Transformation and Strategy, Carole Anderson, got her flu vaccination. She said: "Patients, colleagues, family and friends. I’m getting my flu jab for all of them.”

If you’re eligible for the flu vaccine you will receive a letter, email or text with appointment details or information on how to book one.

You can also book or rearrange an appointment online at the NHS Inform website, or by calling 0800 030 8013.

As comes to an end, we’re celebrating the contribution of our Radiography team.

Radiographer, Sammy Hearl, highlights the role radiographers play in a supporting patients across every area of NHS Golden Jubilee. From imaging patients before surgery to supporting patients in theatres, catheter labs and wards, radiography plays an important part throughout the patient journey.

The opportunity to work across a range of specialist areas, provides opportunities to learn, develop new skills and make a difference to patient care every day.

This , we're also shining a spotlight on our Speech and Language Therapy team.

Speech and Language Therapist, Sophie Wilson Bald, supports patients to rehabilitate their swallowing and communication following illness or surgery. Helping people regain confidence and reconnect with others through everyday activities such as eating, drinking and conversation can make a huge difference to quality of life.
