** Term 3 House Totals **

The House Point totals for Term 3 have now been finalised, and once again it has been an exceptionally close competition between all four Houses. Our pupils have shown fantastic commitment throughout the term, earning points through their positive behaviour, excellent manners, strong work ethic, and demonstration of our school’s six key values.

To celebrate their efforts, the School Council has organised a special ‘ice cream’ treat for all pupils on Monday. Each House will receive toppings based on their final position—an exciting and well-deserved reward for everyone’s hard work!

Term 3 Results:
1st Place: Hanover – 401 points
2nd Place: Urbal – 394 points
3rd Place: Tamlaght – 379 points
4th Place: Ballinderry – 371 points

This term’s result makes it even more special, as it means we have had three different Houses finish in first place across the school year:

Term 1: Tamlaght (1st), Ballinderry (2nd), Hanover (3rd), Urbal (4th)
Term 2: Ballinderry (1st), Tamlaght (2nd), Urbal (3rd), Hanover (4th)
Term 3: Hanover (1st), Urbal (2nd), Tamlaght (3rd), Ballinderry (4th)

This truly highlights how competitive and balanced the House system has been this year.

A huge well done to all pupils for their dedication and contribution to their Houses.

It has been a brilliant year, with everyone working exceptionally hard and showing great pride in their achievements.

P6 Taster Day 2 at Cookstown High School

Our Primary 6 pupils recently enjoyed their second Taster Day at Cookstown High School, where they experienced a varied and exciting programme of activities.

The day began with an informative session highlighting the many opportunities available to pupils, particularly school trips and wider learning experiences at Cookstown High School. This was followed by an engaging Drama lesson with Miss Black, where pupils had the chance to express their creativity and build confidence.

Despite the unpredictable Northern Ireland summer weather, the pupils made the most of their day. Several planned outdoor activities had to be moved indoors, but this did not dampen spirits. Pupils participated enthusiastically in cricket, long jump, rugby, and even visited the fitness suite, where they took on the fun challenge of performing the Macarena while holding a plank position!

The pupils ventured outside for football and hockey; however, rain soon arrived, resulting in some soggy trainers and socks. Nevertheless, the pupils remained in great spirits and thoroughly enjoyed their morning at Cookstown High School.

A big thank you to the staff at Cookstown High School for providing such a welcoming and memorable day.

'Thank You' Mrs Lamberton

During today’s assembly, our pupils had the opportunity to say a fond farewell to Mrs Lamberton.

Over the past two years, Mrs Lamberton has been a valued member of staff at Coagh Primary School. In her various roles, she has had the opportunity to teach almost all of our pupils, building positive relationships and making a meaningful contribution across the school.

On behalf of everyone at Coagh Primary School, we would like to sincerely thank Mrs Lamberton for her hard work, dedication, and flexibility. Her willingness to step into a variety of classrooms and support both pupils and staff has been greatly appreciated.

We wish Mrs Lamberton every success and happiness as she takes up her new role at Ebrington Primary School in Londonderry next year. One thing is for certain – her daily commute will be significantly shorter!

We thank Mrs Lamberton once again for her contribution to our school and wish her all the very best for the future.

Dairy Council Visit

Primary 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed a lively visit from the Dairy Council this morning. They explored the different food groups, discovered how dairy helps build strong bones, and learned fun, memorable actions to bring each idea to life. Their enthusiasm shone as they performed a high-energy food and fitness rap, helping them understand the importance of a balanced lifestyle in the most exciting way.

The session ended with a tightly contested rap battle, where the children showcased everything they had learned with confidence, creativity and plenty of smiles. What a fantastic way to celebrate healthy habits!

P7 End of Year Splash Trip

Our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed a fantastic end-of-year trip today to Splash Waterpark, celebrating their final weeks at Coagh Primary School.

Although the weather was not as sunny as hoped, this certainly did not dampen spirits. The pupils made the most of their visit, enthusiastically taking part in the activities and thoroughly enjoying their time together. It was wonderful to see such excitement, laughter and friendship on display throughout the day.

The trip was followed by a delicious lunch at Top Deck, where pupils had the opportunity to relax and reflect on a memorable experience with their friends.

This annual visit is always a highlight for our P7 pupils and provides a special opportunity to celebrate their time in Coagh Primary School together.

We are delighted that everyone had such an enjoyable and memorable day.

Work Experience Placement

Over the past two weeks, we have been delighted to welcome Lily Creighton and Ella Black from Cookstown High School to Coagh Primary School as part of their work experience placements.

During their time with us, Lily and Ella spent time supporting teaching and learning across a range of classes. They engaged enthusiastically with pupils, offering valuable assistance in the classroom and contributing positively to daily school life.

For Lily, a former pupil of Coagh Primary School returning to the school as part of the staff team—rather than as a pupil—must have felt very different, and we hope it was been enjoyable.

We would like to thank both Lily and Ella for their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to get involved.

Sports Night at Coagh Primary School

What a fantastic evening we enjoyed at our annual Sports Night, held this year at the 3G pitch in Coagh. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout of parents, carers and grandparents who came along to support our pupils.

The children participated enthusiastically in a wide range of events, including hurdles, sack race, skipping race, sprint, egg and spoon race, obstacle course and relay races. It was truly inspiring to see every pupil give their all in each event. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part – your effort, determination and teamwork made you all winners. Congratulations also to our medal recipients for their excellent achievements.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Coagh United FC for once again allowing us to use their excellent facilities. We are very privileged to be part of such a supportive community, and having access to such high-quality resources within walking distance of the school is a tremendous benefit to all pupils at Coagh Primary School.

A special thank you goes to SPAR Coagh for kindly providing medals for all pupils, and to our dedicated staff who worked tirelessly in the lead-up to the event to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Following such an energetic evening, pupils have certainly earned a well-deserved lie-in tomorrow morning. School will open as normal, with Early Bird Club available from 8.00am. However, pupils may arrive anytime up until 10.30am, when school dinner numbers will need to be finalised.

Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success. It was a true celebration of effort, community spirit and enjoyment.
