💜 NIPANC Concert – Everything is Ready 💜

Everything is set for this evening and we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Coagh Presbyterian Church Hall for what promises to be a wonderful concert in memory of our dear friend and colleague, Alison Wilson.

Doors open at 6.45pm, with the concert beginning at 7.00pm.

A reminder that every available seat has been reserved. Unfortunately, we will not be able to admit anyone who arrives this evening without a ticket.

Please do not come along unless you have already reserved a seat, as we really do not want to have to turn anyone away at the door. Thank you for your understanding.

🚗 Parking Arrangements 🚗

With a full hall, the area around the school and church will be particularly busy this evening. Parking will be available at:

🔹 Coagh Baptist Church – the rear car park will be available. Please park considerately and do not block other vehicles.

🔹 Coagh Primary School – additional parking will be available on the rear school playground, accessed through the school car park.

🔹 School car park – the car park immediately beside the Church Hall should be kept primarily for those with mobility needs who require closer access.

🔹 Coagh Presbyterian Church – the church car park opposite the hall will also be available.

🔹 Urbal Road – if parking along the road, please be considerate of local residents, do not block driveways and leave sufficient space for vehicles to pass safely.

Where possible, we would encourage people travelling together to car-share to help reduce congestion.

🎵 School Choir 🎵

Parents of children taking part in the school choir should please check their messages on the School Gateway app. A letter has been sent this afternoon containing important information about arrival, watching the performance and collection arrangements for choir members.

💜 Supporting NIPANC 💜

There is no charge for tonight’s concert, but the purpose of this very special evening is to raise funds for NIPANC.

Donation buckets will be available at the doors and all donations will go to NIPANC. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Most importantly, this evening gives our school and wider community an opportunity to come together in memory of our dear friend and colleague Alison Wilson.

Everything is ready, and we cannot wait to see the hall filled this evening for a very special night of music, memories and community spirit. 💜

💻🌟 Meet Our New Digital Leaders 💻🌟

We are delighted to introduce our new P7 Digital Leaders!

These enthusiastic pupils have taken on the important role of helping to promote ICT and digital learning throughout our school.

Our Digital Leaders will help teachers and pupils with technology, support the use of iPads and other devices, encourage safe and responsible internet use, and help look after our ICT equipment.

We are excited to see our Digital Leaders develop their leadership skills, share their knowledge and make a positive difference across our school.

Well done to our new Digital Leaders! We know you will do a fantastic job!

** Harvest Donations Supporting Our Local Community **

A huge thank you to everyone who so generously donated food items for our Harvest Assembly last week.

Yesterday, Ava, Bradley and Emily who are members of our School Council had the opportunity to visit the food bank at Liberty Church, Cookstown, to deliver all of the donations collected by our school community.

During the visit, it was wonderful to hear about the important work being carried out locally and that the food bank is helping around 100 families in the local area. It was reassuring to know that the items donated by our families will be put to very good use and will provide valuable support to people in our local community over the coming weeks.

Once again, a massive thank you to all our parents and families for your kindness and generosity. Your support is very much appreciated.

**NIPANC Concert – Important Information for Thursday Evening**

** ALL TICKETS HAVE NOW BEEN RESERVED **

We are really looking forward to our special NIPANC Concert this Thursday evening, 22nd October, at 7.00pm in Coagh Presbyterian Church Hall.

We are delighted to confirm that all available tickets for the concert have now been reserved. The response has been fantastic and the hall will be at full capacity.

** ALL TICKETS HAVE NOW BEEN RESERVED **

As all places have been allocated, unfortunately we will not be able to admit anyone who arrives on Thursday evening without a ticket.

We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause. We knew there would be a great deal of interest in the concert, which is why we introduced the online ticketing system. We wanted to avoid, as far as possible, people making the journey on the evening only to find that the hall had reached capacity.

Thank you for your understanding.

** Doors & Seating **

Doors will open at 6.45pm, with the concert beginning at 7.00pm.

Seating is unallocated and on a first-come, first-served basis. As every available seat has been reserved, we would kindly ask everyone to fill seats as they arrive and not to leave gaps between groups. School staff will be on hand to help everyone find a seat.

** Parking Arrangements **

With a full hall, the area will be particularly busy, so we would ask everyone to park carefully and responsibly.

Coagh Baptist Church-
Thank you to Coagh Baptist Church for making their rear car park available. Please park considerately and ensure other vehicles are not blocked in.

Coagh Primary School playground-
Additional parking will be available on the rear school playground, accessed through the school car park.

School car park-
We would ask that the school car park immediately beside the Church Hall is kept primarily for those with mobility needs who need to park closer to the Church Hall.

Coagh Presbyterian Church-

We also appreciate that people who have been unable to secure a ticket may still wish to support NIPANC. Further information on how you can make a donation without attending the concert will be shared after the event.

** A Fantastic Community Programme **

We are delighted to have such a wonderful range of performers taking part. We know everyone attending will really enjoy the range of performances taking place during the concert.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available during the evening, and we are very grateful to everyone who has contributed refreshments.

A special thank you also goes to our local churches for their tremendous support (Coagh Presbyterian Church, Coagh Baptist Church and St Luke's, Tamlaght). This really has become a community event, with so many people helping to make the evening possible.

Above all, the evening will be an opportunity to come together in memory of our friend and colleague Alison Wilson, while raising funds and awareness for NIPANC.

** Celebrating Maths Week **

Last week, we celebrated Maths Week at Coagh Primary School by taking Mental Maths outdoors and enjoying a range of fun, active challenges across the school!

From jumping frogs and treasure hunts in P1 and P2, to number bond relays, capacity investigations, percentages and mathematical scavenger hunts further up the school, our pupils discovered that Maths really can be found everywhere!

It was fantastic to see so much active learning, teamwork and problem-solving taking place. Well done to all our pupils for their enthusiasm and excellent participation throughout the week.

** Blitz Hockey Events at Cookstown High School **

It has been a fantastic two days of hockey for our girls' and boys' teams, who travelled to Cookstown High School to take part in the Primary School Hockey Blitzes, held as part of the All-Ireland Schoolboys Hockey event alongside Cookstown Hockey Club.

Our girls took to the pitch on Monday, playing five matches against Orritor, Phoenix, Friends, Castledawson and Donaghey. The girls were competitive throughout, producing some excellent hockey, scoring some great goals and recording a mixture of wins, draws and narrow defeats.

Grace – 3
Alana – 2

Today it was the turn of our boys, who played seven matches against Ballytrea, Moneymore, Donaghey, Friends, Phoenix, Cookstown and Orritor.

The boys produced an excellent all-round performance, scoring six goals and conceding just four across their seven matches. They recorded two wins and two draws, with their three defeats against Friends, Cookstown and Orritor all coming by a single goal.

Well done to both teams. It was great to see the progress being made, with lots of competitive hockey and some excellent individual and team performances across the two days.

A big thank you to Mr Haycock and Cookstown High School for hosting the blitzes, and particularly to the pupils who umpired the matches over the two days.

After two excellent outings at Dungannon and Cookstown already this year, we look forward to our next opportunity to get both teams back onto the pitch.

We wish Cookstown High School Boys First XI every success over the next few days of competition!

** A Special Visit from a Past Pupil - Exodus Adventure **

It was fantastic to welcome Ella, a past pupil of Coagh Primary School, back to school this morning to speak to our pupils during assembly.

As part of the Exodus programme, Ella had the opportunity to travel to Hungary during the summer, and today she shared some of her experiences and adventures with the boys and girls.

It was particularly special to see a former pupil standing so confidently at the front of our assembly and speaking to the whole school. For our current pupils, it was a wonderful opportunity to see what they too can aspire to as they grow in confidence, take on new challenges and embrace opportunities in the years ahead.

A big thank you also to Jordan from Exodus, who interviewed Ella during the assembly and helped us to learn more about her trip through a great range of questions.

Well done, Ella! We were incredibly proud to welcome you back to Coagh Primary School, and we know that all our pupils thoroughly enjoyed hearing about your adventures. We hope there will be many more to come!

✨ Staying Safe This Half Term ✨

A big thank you to PSNI Officer Wendy Stevenson, who visited Coagh Primary School this afternoon to deliver a special safety talk to our pupils.

Wendy spoke separately to P1–P3 and P4–P7 about fireworks safety, the safe use of sparklers, caring for animals during fireworks, and staying safe while 'trick-or-treating'

The children were very engaged and asked and answered some excellent questions.

P2 make their own recycled paper!
P2 Become Paper Recycling Experts
As part of our topic, Rubbish and Recycling, our P2 children have had a fantastic few days learning all about recycling and how old paper can be transformed into something new!
After discovering the process of recycling paper, the children had great fun getting hands-on and making their very own recycled paper. They began by tearing paper into tiny pieces and placing them into old plastic bottles with water. Then came the fun part – lots of shaking to turn the paper into a soft pulp!
Next, the children carefully sieved their mixture, added some lovely decorations and left their creations to dry.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about the importance of recycling, reducing waste and looking after our environment. They thoroughly enjoyed every stage of the process, especially the shaking, and were so proud of their finished creations!
A brilliant few days of messy, creative and environmentally friendly learning!

** Welcoming Rev Halligan to Coagh Primary School **

Following our special Harvest Assembly in St Luke’s Church, Tamlaght, last Friday, it was lovely to welcome Rev Halligan to Coagh Primary School today for our school assembly.

Rev Halligan focused on three simple but very important words: “Thank you”, “Sorry” and “Please”. Although they are words we use every day, they carry an important message about how we treat and respond to others.

This linked particularly well with our six key school values at Coagh Primary School: Kindness, Responsibility, Perseverance, Community, Positivity and Honesty. Saying please and thank you helps us to show kindness, positivity and respect for those around us, while having the courage to say sorry encourages us to demonstrate honesty and responsibility when we make mistakes. Using these words and putting them into action also helps us to build the strong sense of community that is so important to our school. Perseverance reminds us that living out these values is something we keep working at every day, even when it is not always easy.

A big thank you to Rev Halligan for taking the time to visit us and for sharing such a simple but meaningful message with our pupils. We look forward to welcoming him back to Coagh Primary School again soon.
