Layer Marney Tower

Many congratulations to Sophie and Alexander who were married at the parish church St Mary the Virgin Layer Marney on Saturday.

Local florist B's Blooms florist dressed the Church and the Long Gallery for the wedding breakfast.

It was interesting to see a different table configuration to usual, with a sweetheart table for the couple and four separate long dining tables. The colour coordinated napkins are supplied by Table Settings

If you look closely at the table plan, you will see each table was named after one of the Hogwarts Houses.

The Harry Potter theme continued with handmade wands by the Groom and the Golden Snitch on the side of the wedding cake by Tess Cakes 1

Guests danced to music provided by DJ Buzby in the Barn.

Thanks as always to Bouquet Garni Caterers

Our best wishes and congratulations to Jodie and Jake on their recent wedding!

The ceremony room was beautifully decorated with flowers by W Flowers and it was lovely to have live music provided by family member Danielle Simson.

Live music continued for the drinks reception in the garden, courtesy of Caroline Music By Violin

The Barn looked stunning with tall centrepieces by W Flowers and colour coordinated napkins from Table Settings The decor was complemented further by the gorgeous wedding cake that the bride made herself.

Congratulations to Nonlec and David on their recent wedding!

We loved seeing how they made the venue their own for their special day. From the decorations in the Corsellis Room for the ceremony, to repurposing them for the banquet table in the Long Gallery and Barn for the evening party. All styled by the couple themselves.

One particularly special moment was hearing the track “You are the reason” recorded by Nonlec’s daughter as the bridal party walked down the aisle. As she was also a bridesmaid, she was unable to perform live on the day.

We hope you have a fabulous honeymoon and look forward to receiving some official photos on your return 💕

This October, we have two very different ways to celebrate Halloween at Layer Marney Tower 🏰🎃

🕯️ For the grown-ups…
Join Toby Burchell after dark for an evening of traditional ghost stories by candlelight. Two chilling tales; Charles Dickens’ The Signalman and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lot No. 249 performed inside the Tower.

👑 For our younger Halloween visitors…
Halloween Heroes takes over the Tower on Thursday 29th October, with an immersive adventure from Glass Slipper. Children will journey through the Tower completing hero challenges, meeting characters including Maleficent, Princess Aurora, Snow White, Jack Skellington & Sally, before a final Hero Training celebration. Expect storytelling, activities, music, dancing and plenty of Halloween magic along the way.
