📡Using radar to help build up a better picture of the battlefield.

53 Air Assault Battery Royal Artillery tested the new Ground Based Surveillance Radar on Exercise Rhino Bizz in Canada🇨🇦.

The sensor is used to track the location and movement of soldiers and vehicles on the ground, and aircraft and drones in the air. It can be used alongside artillery and mortars to track where rounds are landing, and correct their aim to destroy the target quicker.

🪖 The 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment B Coy has officially taken over from the 5th Battalion, The Rifles RECCE-STRIKE Coy as the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI), Roulement Infantry Company (RIC).

The date marks the first US Army parachute jump on 16 Aug 1940: today, as then, we stand ready to jump into action together.

Our paratroopers have competed in the Leapfest-International Airborne Competition in the USA🇺🇸, building both their skills and bonds with airborne forces from across the globe.

Competing individually and as teams of four, paratroopers jump from Chinook helicopters🚁 flying at 1,500ft under MC-6 steerable parachutes🪂. The aim is to land as close as possible to a defined point❌ on the drop zone, with troops judged on the time between their feet hitting the ground and touching the target⌛.

The event is organised by Rhode Island National Guard to promote parachuting skills and esprit de corps within airborne forces, with 48 teams from 21 countries taking part.
