Tonight the Local Plan committee can vote for a new Local Plan, which protects Middlewick from housing, as well as other sites across Colchester.

We have already seen speculative development in the ward because councillors from other parties are refusing to make tough decisions.

The facts about a Local Plan are very simple: if you have one, you have much more control over where future housing goes. If you don't have one, you will get housing anyway and you'll have no control over where it goes, while costing the council millions in failed appeals.

Another bit of encroaching budleja cut back on Hythe Quay, with the majority of the plant left untouched.

This overgrowth was becoming a hazard as it obstructed the vision of anyone trying to cross the road.

Glad to see this campaign bearing fruit. I was initially told they had been cancelled due to budget restraints but I fought for our ward to get these vital repairs.

These will be night works starting at 8pm.

Many of you will have seen the almost comical, but shambolic works on the High Street in Rowhedge.

There are still marks across the whole road and drain covers tarmacced over.

I was told by Highways that they allow 30 days for the works to "bed-in".

Well it's been over 30 days and it still looks a complete mess.

Essex Highways must not pay the contractor who is ripping off taxpayers.

We appreciate some want to see a full resurfacing job but they have done a proper seal on this.
