🚧 ADVANCE ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE - Old Road, Coalway

Gloucestershire County Council has advised of a temporary road closure to allow works by Wales and West Utilities.

📍 Location: Old Road, Coalway
📅 Dates: Sunday 2nd – Thursday 6th of November 2026
🚨 Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout

🎬 The People's Emergency Briefing - just over a week to go!

We're looking forward to welcoming you to Coleford Baptist Church on Tuesday the 8th of September for this free community film screening, brought to you by Coleford Town Council and Forest of Dean Quakers.

Andy Vivian, Clerk of Forest of Dean Quakers, says the film is a chance to look honestly at the challenges of a warming planet and at the practical, positive steps we can all take to adapt and help stabilise against further change.

📢 Update: Forest Road, Lydney

We have received an update regarding the ongoing ground stabilisation works on Forest Road, Lydney.

The attached communication explains the reasons for the decision and the benefits of undertaking all necessary stabilisation works as part of a single, coordinated programme.

The current anticipated completion date is summer 2027, subject to ground conditions and construction progress.

🎬 Join us for a free film screening: The People's Emergency Briefing

Coleford Town Council and Forest of Dean Quakers are working together to bring this powerful documentary to Coleford Baptist Church.

The film brings together leading UK experts across climate science, food security, health, the economy, national security and nature, offering a clear, evidence-based look at how the climate and nature crisis is already affecting everyday life here in Britain, and what may lie ahead. It's non-partisan, and backed by organisations including the National Trust, the Church of England, WWF and the Royal Meteorological Society.

This screening is part of the National Emergency Briefing initiative, a UK-wide campaign of local community screenings and discussions, delivered locally as the People's Emergency Briefing.
