Puzzlewood is a unique and magical forest with a mile of meandering pathways and over 200 steps set in 14 acres of ancient woodland. The paths take you through a wonderland of deep ravines and moss covered rocks, over wooden bridges and through fantastic tree and rock formations. It's a popular TV and film location for productions including Merlin, Doctor Who, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Huntsman and more.

Throughout September, we'll be open daily from 10am, with last entry at 3.30pm and gates closing at 5pm.

It's World Rainforest Day

Most people picture the Amazon when they hear "rainforest" — but did you know the UK has its own?

Temperate rainforest once blanketed a fifth of Britain. Today, less than 1% survives, and Puzzlewood is one of those rare remaining pockets.

Beneath our cool tree canopy you can see why these places are so special: ancient rocks draped in lush moss, ferns unfurling in every shade of green, and an atmospheric world that supports wildlife you rarely find elsewhere.

We don't take it lightly. Every path, fence and intricate bridge here is maintained with one aim — letting you explore this ancient landscape while keeping its fragile balance undisturbed. So when you visit, take it slow, stick to the paths, and soak up everything around you 💚

Your curiosity, passion and life's work have changed the way the world sees nature — and as custodians of our own precious ancient temperate rainforest, we've always been in awe.
