A pleasure to join SOS Daisy Hill last night at their public meeting in Newry as they fight to save their maternity services.
Same erosion of services, just a different order!
The decision was taken last night for Newry to rally on Sunday 25th October.
There is strength in unity!

Thanks to Niall Deeney for covering our FOI responses - at least the ones we have received. We await the rest which are now two months late.
Why is that?

"The Northern Trust, however, say there is "no evidence that the reconfiguration of maternity has impacted on the safety of the services."

​Official data finally exposes the devastating reality behind the centralisation of maternity services at Antrim Area Hospital:
​📉 Over 49,000 hours of staff sickness absence in 2025.
​🏥 Hundreds of monthly bank shifts plugging a breaking system.
​⚠️ Nearly 2,600 safety incident reports (Datix) since 2022.

​The numbers prove Antrim could not cope — yet the exact same dangerous centralisation playbook is now being lined up for Daisy Hill Hospital.
​We demand full transparency, real workforce support and an urgent review before history repeats itself.
Staff on the ground must be supported, communities must be protected, the safety of mothers and babies must come first.

More are speaking out! More concerns have become clear AS A RESULT of hospital campaigns, as a result of ordinary people fighting to ensure their voices CAN NO LONGER BE IGNORED, as a result of public meetings!

A senior doctor working in the Causeway hospital says many medics there are concerned about the long term consequences proposed changes to services will have on the site’s viability – warning of a “domino effect”.
