After a little bit of a newsletter hiatus (apologies!) we’re pleased to share the October edition of our monthly Town Council newsletter; created to keep residents informed and engaged.

We’re delighted to introduce the brand new Colne Town Council website!

Our old website had served us well, but it was becoming outdated and increasingly difficult to navigate. We wanted to create a website that is clearer, more modern and much easier for residents and visitors to use.

Our new website makes it simpler to find the information you need, from council meetings and documents to local news, events, facilities and ways to get in touch with us.

💪 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥 – 𝗔 𝗪𝗘𝗧 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗘𝗙𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗧! ☔️

A huge thank you to our fantastic Treasure Our Town team who braved the rain and joined us for our penultimate litter pick of 2026!

Our dedicated volunteers once again made a fantastic difference to our town. Together, we collected bags of litter, dumped items and a surprisingly large number of nitrous oxide canisters from around the area.

Our volunteers also helped identify a number of problem properties where rubbish has accumulated in yards. These issues will be reported to the relevant authorities so they can be followed up.

It just goes to show what can be achieved in one hour of community effort. A little rain certainly didn't stop our volunteers from getting stuck in and helping to keep Colne clean, cared for and welcoming! 👏

A massive thank you to everyone who continues to give up their time and support Treasure Our Town – we genuinely couldn't do it without you! 🙏

Equipment is provided — just bring yourself and some community spirit!

We’re urgently looking for more volunteers to help us continue making a difference...

Without continued community support, the initiative simply cannot continue in its current form. Even giving just one hour a month can lead to huge improvements in keeping Colne clean, cared for, and welcoming for everyone 💚

Join us on the last Wednesday of every month to help:

✅ Collect litter
✅ Highlight maintenance issues around town
✅ Care for our shared spaces, streets, and parks
✅ Make a positive difference in the community

Session times vary throughout the year to help fit around different schedules and commitments. Check out the timetable below for locations and meeting points

We are seeking an innovative and creative individual or
organisation to deliver comprehensive marketing, press and social media services for the 2027 festival.

The successful contractor will play a key role in helping to:
🎵 Drive visitor attendance
🎟️ Maximise ticket and camping sales
📱 Deliver engaging digital and social media campaigns
📰 Secure effective PR and media coverage
🤝 Deliver strong value for festival sponsors

💷 Indicative budget: £9,500 + VAT
