The Licensing Section has recently been made aware of several "cake sheds" operating within Conwy County. If you sell cakes commercially, you will need to ensure that you are registered with the food safety team and may in some circumstances require permission from planning, your landlord and /or mortgage provider to run a business from your property.

With regard to "Street Trading", we would recommend anyone wishing to offer goods for sale from their driveway, shed or garden to read the current Street Trading policy. If the public have what is called "unfettered access" (access without payment to your property) and you are within 15 metres of the highway, then Street Trading Legislation could apply and you may need a permit. This also applies to private business carparks if no charge is applied to enter. More details can be found using this link:

If you are a business advertising the sale of goods from your garden, please contact the licensing section for further advice and guidance.
