This also affects Combe Martin Fire Station.
Please do not park in the marked area outside the station for any period of time, however small.
It may appear that no activity is happening at the station. But firefighters alerters can go off at any time. And earlier this week, this did happen and firefighters trying to gain access to the station car park, had restricted access due to parked cars with people being dropped off at the village hall. Plus a car was in the station car park.
Full access is required 24 hours a day.
Thankyou for your understanding.

🚒 Please Keep Our Fire Station Entrance Clear 🚒

This morning, our response to an emergency was delayed because queing cars were blocking the entrance to the fire station, leaving little room for movement.

Unlike wholetime stations, our crews respond from home or work when their pagers go off, meaning they need to access the station quickly at any time, day or night. Every second counts in an emergency, and delays could make a real difference.

We kindly ask everyone to think before parking near the station and ensure there is always enough space for emergency vehicles to get in and out.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep Braunton safe! 🚒🔥

We have recently attended a large Gorse fire on the moors, did you see us and wonder what its like? 🚒🔥🚨

Upon arriving the crews worked quickly to locate, extinguish and eliminate fire spread. We managed to navigate the tricky terrain and use hand tools effectively for a quick stop.

We have been experiencing a high number of calls following the heavy rain in Devon and Somerset earlier today, with more rain expected to sweep across the area this evening.

Water levels are likely to keep rising, with roads becoming flooded. Please do not drive through floodwater, especially where warning signs have been put in place.

Just 30cm of flowing water can make a vehicle stuck or even sweep it away.

We wish our friends, families, colleagues, and communities a safe and Happy Easter!

If you’re turning the heating on, be aware that dust can rise and get into your smoke alarm and set it off.

This time of year, we recommend cleaning out your smoke alarm with a vacuum. Please offer a helping hand if you know someone who wouldn't be able to reach theirs

🚒 our crew actively taking part in some combination drills, involving ladders and an open water source.
These combination drills prepare firefighters for scenarios where fires occur in locations with limited hydrant access or where a reliable water source is distant, emphasizing the need for adaptability and efficient teamwork in firefighting operations.
