Member of Ards & North Down Housing Community Network. The HCN works on four levels:

Community
At the estate or community level, local office and Supporting Communities staff are available to assist communities in setting up bona fide associations to represent the views of their local community to the Housing Executive and other agencies. Area
Area managers will look for representatives from each of the local resident/community associations across the neighbourhood to come together at a neighbourhood forum. The forum will discuss service group standards, service delivery and related housing issues. Regions
There is also a forum set up in each of the Housing Executive's 5 regions, to which each District HCN sends representatives. The Regional Housing Community Networks monitor and review services throughout their area. The Housing Community Network is the Housing Executive's central panel advising on our policies and procedures. The HCN comprises 15 tenant and community representatives nominated from the area networks. The Central Housing Forum is a consultative panel to the Housing Executive and is made up of representatives from each of the 13 areas, as well as representation from hard-to-reach groups, including young people, people with disabilities and people from rural areas. The Central Housing Forum represents the Housing Community Network, the key forum for tenant engagement in Northern Ireland. The Housing Community Network is comprised of approximately 500 community groups across NI as well as representative tenant involvement panels in each of the Housing Executive Areas of housing management. This forum has a recognised and meaningful role in the monitoring and decision-making process of the Housing Executive and influences decisions affecting tenants and communities. The panel scrutinises policies and procedures and, moreover, acts as a quality assurance to the Housing Executive Board.

Condolences to the Family of Lucas Mawhinney
From the Comber Community Residents Group
This is not something we would ordinarily do.
However, given the circumstances and the overwhelming outpouring of grief for Lucas, it is with heavy hearts that Comber Community Residents Group extends our deepest condolences to the family of Lucas Mawhinneyโ€”his mother Joanne, his father N***y (Paul), his Wee Sis Emily, and his younger brother Harvey. Our thoughts are especially with you at this difficult time; three members of Lucasโ€™s family are part of our committee, and all of us feel their sorrow.
Lucas was a character whose presence filled every room with laughter and energy. He was a lovable rogueโ€”always up for a bit of craic, surrounded by friends and "bros" who cherished his company, sharing stories and laughs over a bottle of Bucky. There was never a dull moment when Lucas was around. Over the last year, the family has suffered a lot with the loss of loved ones, which is so unfair for any family. Though Lucas faced moments of unwarranted injustice, he met them with a quiet resilience that spoke volumes about his character. No matter the adversity, Lucasโ€”true to formโ€”wore his trademark smile and carried on, undeterred and unbowed. Fair play to you, young man.
He was the sort who made a difference in small but meaningful ways. Neighbours recall his willingness to lend a hand, whether it was bringing out the bins or taking on a dozen other wee jobs without ever expecting thanks or recognition. That little community enjoyed having him living nearby, and none had a bad word to say. In these simple acts, Lucasโ€™s goodness shone through, building bonds in the community that have become all the more evident in recent days as many have shared on Facebook and in heartfelt tributes. Lucas was not perfect; few of us are. Like many, he faced challenges and sometimes strayed from the straight and narrow. But what defined Lucas was his kind heart; he never set out to harm or hurt anyone. It simply wasnโ€™t in his nature. That kindness and crack are why the good and decent people of Comber so loved him.
The outpouring of memories and tributes to Lucas highlights the profound impact he had on those around him. He was, and always will be, a true Comber manโ€”remembered for his warmth, mischievous spirit, and the joy he brought to so many.
On behalf of the Comber Community Residents Group, we offer our sincerest sympathies and steadfast support to Lucasโ€™s family. May Lucasโ€™s memory be a blessing to all who knew him, a source of strength in moments of sorrow, and a beacon of light in the days ahead. May his family find solace in the immense love and respect pouring in from a community he cherished so deeplyโ€”a community of which he will forever remain a part.
