It’s one of the grandest venues in the civic calendar and I was delighted to be able to attend the The Lord Mayor of Chester’s charity fundraiser at Eaton Hall. Attending events like this enables the Mayor to ‘fly the flag’ for Congleton and help raise money for Cheshire based charities. Good to see Alsager Mayor Cllr Pauline Hubbard too. Thanks to Cllr Kay Wesley for joining me! We all enjoyed the joyous performance from the Proud Marys, Chester's LGBT Choir who we last saw at Congleton Pride.

They wouldn’t let me take the gorgeous Woody home with me! An assistance dog can make a huge difference to a young person’s life particularly if they are autistic. It was great to find out about the work of the Autism Assistance Dogs Charity and, of course, to meet one of their newest recruits - Woody.

RSPCA’s Bark in the Park was a fabulous festival of furry fun! So many amazing dogs - handsome, pretty, waggy, clever and courageous. My new best friend is Archie - Mayor’s Dog of the Day. He’s a Bernedoodle. (Half standard poodle, half Bernese Mountain Dog). I think I’m in love. ❤️

A packed house for the showing of the . Thank you to everyone who came. Special thanks to our facilitator Ben Tolhurst from Business Declares, Zoe Robinson from Keele University and Sarah Russell MP for her support.

Thank you to Congleton Town Council and Congleton Sustainability Group for their hosting of the . The room was packed and there was a facilitated discussion at the end of the presentation about how we felt about climate change and what we can do, with lots of great suggestions. Today is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fund raising day of the year and so it was with enormous pleasure that I joined in with the cake eating and raffle ticket buying at The Alexandra Court Hotel where the MacMillan Coffee Morning was in full swing. Congratulations to Andy and the team for bringing us all together for a fantastically good cause.

Earlier this month we came together for the steering group meeting of the Congleton Wellbeing Hub hosted by Plus Dane Housing. This project is going from strength to strength providing space and opportunity for face to face meetings with wellbeing support and therapy professionals. Over 20 organisations are partners in this initiative and this continues to grow. A huge thank you to Usman Ashiq for leading this project.
