If anything can put an end to weeks of drought, it must be a Bank Holiday weekend with outdoor events arranged. However, music lovers were undeterred, coats and umbrellas were retrieved from storage, and plenty of people came to enjoy some great performances at the Physic Garden on Saturday. Magnolia Junction got things off to a great start, with some relaxing, warm and engaging blues and jazz. Then it was time for audience participation, as the Drumroots Drumming Workshop invited new drummers to learn some skills, drowning out the rhythm of raindrops on the roof. The Tanante percussion group then gave a hypnotic and lively performance of their own. The afternoon was rounded off perfectly by Darren and Trish, with thoughtful and humorous song lyrics and guitar, and haunting harmonica.
