Rosemount a loving home from home for over 40 years. In June 1983 Rosemount was opened as a charity.

After many years of business in Consett, Laurie and Joyce Barnett had a vision to give something back to the local community. After visiting an elderly Aunt who had lost her son at 19 years in the war and later her husband, they decided there was a need for a Christian home in Consett. With the help of many Christian friends Rosemount began to flourish. Today the same pride and attention to care is provided by the staff.

Manager Kerry with Nicola and Sarah popped over to Glenroyd House Community Pantry to drop off our National Food Bank Day collection ready for tomorrow — and we honestly couldn’t believe how much we had collected! 🥫🍝🛍️

The bags were heaving… and VERY heavy! 😂💪

A massive thank you to all our staff, families and friends who donated. Every tin, packet and item will help make a difference to people in our local community. ❤️

We’re so proud of everyone who got involved. Together, we really can support our community. 🥰👏

Join us at Rosemount on Friday 25th September at 10:30am for our Macmillan Coffee Morning! 🍰

Tea, coffee & cake for just £3, plus lots of stalls, a tombola and Mac Francis singing live at 2pm! 🎶

Come along, have a cuppa, enjoy some cake and help us raise money for a fantastic cause. 💚

For National Food Bank Day on 4th September, we’re proud to be supporting Glenroyd House Community Pantry and helping those in our local community who need a little extra support.

🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾❤️

Did you know that Rosemount has FOUR amazing PAT dogs who regularly come in to visit our residents? 🐶🐾

PAT stands for Pets As Therapy, and these furry friends bring so much joy, comfort and companionship. A cuddle, a waggy tail or simply having a four-legged friend nearby can brighten someone’s day, encourage conversation and bring back lots of lovely memories. 🥰

We absolutely love our doggy visitors at Rosemount! 💙

🌊 What a lovely day we had at Roker! 🐟🍦

Didn’t we have a wonderful time on our trip to the seaside! We walked right along to the harbour, watching the boats coming in and enjoying seeing the fishermen along the way. ⚓️🎣

Then it was time to sit by the seafront with some good old-fashioned fish and chips whilst people watching – fish and chips always taste better by the sea! 🐟🍟

We had a lovely wander through Roker Park before finishing the day off with the ice cream🍦😋

Everyone came home feeling content, happy and thoroughly refreshed after a day of sunshine, sea air and happy memories. 💙 🌊

Here’s to many more days out by the seaside! 🥰

We’re getting very excited for our day trip to Roker next week! 🚌💙

Fingers crossed the sun makes an appearance so we can enjoy the beach, Roker Park, fish & chips and, of course, an ice cream! 🍦🐟🍟
But whatever the weather I’m sure we will all have a grand day out! 🤞🏼☀️

💍❤️ 21 Years of Love! ❤️💍

Saturday was a very special day for Julie and Alan as they celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary! 🥂

To mark the occasion, they were invited to a very special meal at ‘La Rosa’ Restaurant, with a menu carefully put together around some of their favourite foods. 🍽️

With a lovely glass of red wine, a little token gift and even their own waitress service, Julie and Alan were truly wined and dined! 🍷✨

A beautiful way to celebrate 21 years of marriage, surrounded by good food, good company and lots of love. ❤️

National Food Bank Day – 4th September

This year, Rosemount would love to support Glenroyd House Community Pantry by organising our very own food drive! 🛒💙

We’re asking our lovely families, friends and staff to help us make a difference by bringing in non-perishable food donations to Rosemount. We’ll collect everything together and take it to Glenroyd House to help support people in our local community.

Some of the items they need include:

🥫 Tinned soup & beans
🍝 Pasta, rice & pasta sauces
🥣 Cereals & porridge
🫙 Jars of sauces & spreads
🍪 Biscuits & snack items
☕ Tea, coffee & hot chocolate
🧃 Long-life milk & juice
🥫 Tinned meat, fish & potatoes
🍬 Treats & chocolate

Every tin, packet and jar can make a difference. If we all bring just a little, together we can give a lot.

📍 Please bring your donations into Rosemount, and we’ll make sure they reach Glenroyd House Community Pantry on 4th September.
