Rosemount a loving home from home for over 40 years. In June 1983 Rosemount was opened as a charity.

After many years of business in Consett, Laurie and Joyce Barnett had a vision to give something back to the local community. After visiting an elderly Aunt who had lost her son at 19 years in the war and later her husband, they decided there was a need for a Christian home in Consett. With the help of many Christian friends Rosemount began to flourish. Today the same pride and attention to care is provided by the staff.

We couldn’t let Sheila’s 90th birthday celebrations pass without sharing a little more from her special day! 🎉💃🕺

These videos capture just a small part of the fun! It was wonderful to see Sheila and all of our residents enjoying such a memorable afternoon together. Our Elvis tribute had everyone singing along, tapping their feet, and even taking to the dance floor.

Thanks again Elvis, for helping make Sheila’s 90th birthday one to remember! 👑🎶

🎾 Save the Date! 🎾

We're serving up something special at
Rosemount as we celebrate Marian's birthday in true Wimbledon style! 🎂 🍓 🥂

As Wimbledon begins on the same day as Marian's birthday, we've turned her love of tennis into a fantastic Wimbledon Lunch Party.
Expect delicious food, strawberries and cream, a glass of fizz, and plenty of fun!

Friends and family are very welcome to come along and join us for the celebrations on Monday 29th June at 12pm.

We look forward to seeing you there for an afternoon that's sure to be a grand slam! 🎾 💙

Yesterday was not only Father’s Day, but also Sheila’s very special 90th birthday! 🎉🎂

We celebrated in style with a fantastic birthday cake, a delicious buffet, and everyone enjoyed a glass of fizz (non-alcoholic, of course! 😜).

Then Elvis entered the building! - Moorside Elvis! 🎤🕺 He had some of the ladies swooning as he serenaded them with all the classics. A few staff members are big Elvis fans too, so they were more than happy to stick around for the performance! There was plenty of singing, dancing, and laughter throughout the afternoon.

Most importantly, Sheila had a wonderful day surrounded by friends, family, and lots of birthday cheer.

Yesterday we celebrated Father’s Day at Rosemount. 💙

The gentlemen of Rosemount were delighted to receive a small gift from us, (and of course we couldn’t leave the ladies out, so they enjoyed a little treat too)

And as requested we had delicious hot beef sandwiches for dinner, which went down a treat. The afternoon was then spent enjoying quality time with family and loved ones.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day. 😊

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Pete to Rosemount for an afternoon of wonderful violin music. 🎻

With lyric books at the ready, residents enjoyed a fantastic sing-along to some much-loved favourites. And when Pete played I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside, it seemed the perfect time to bring out the ice creams! 🍦☀️

There were plenty of smiles and laughs throughout the afternoon. Our very own Silly Sue even got up to perform a dance to Singing in the Rain – although without an umbrella, she had to improvise! ☔😂

🌟 Amazing News! 🌟

We are delighted to announce that our sponsored walk has raised an incredible £2,515 for the Rosemount Renewals & Refurbishment Fund! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, supported and cheered us on along the way. From sore feet and tired legs to plenty of determination and teamwork, every mile was worth it.

This fantastic total would not have been possible without the generosity of our staff, friends, families and supporters. Your kindness and encouragement have made a real difference.

World Cup fever has well and truly taken over
Rosemount! ⚽️ 🏆

Our World Cup party was in full swing today as we got ready for England's first match. Flags were waving, football songs were being sung, and there was plenty of excitement around the home.

The kitchen put on an amazing match-day spread with burgers, hot dogs, skewers, crisps and dip, and lots more tasty treats. A special football-themed cake was also made for the occasion! 🎂

The staff were all kitted out in their footy shirts, everyone has submitted their match predictions, and our wall chart is ready and waiting to be filled in after tomorrow's results. 🥅

A huge thank you to all of the staff who helped organise, cook, decorate, join in the fun and make it such a fantastic day for everyone. Your hard work and enthusiasm made the event extra special. 💙

A big thank you to Kim from Sugar Station for visiting Rosemount today with a fantastic selection of sweet treats! 🍬🍭

Residents enjoyed choosing from lots of favourites, with jazzies, fudge, jelly babies and liquorice proving especially popular. Staff and family members couldn’t resist treating themselves too! 😊

There were certainly plenty of sweet tooths being satisfied today. Thank you, Kim, for another lovely visit – we look forward to seeing you again soon! 💙

We have a new chef at Rosemount today! 🍴 🐾

Ben the therapy dog is lending a paw in the kitchen with Avril, Liz and Helen. He's been supervising closely, carrying out quality control checks, and making sure everything is up to scratch!

I Wonder what the residents are having for dinner?
