4 November 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the disbandment of the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC.
For many veterans who served during Operation Banner, the RUC GC were not simply a police force — they were colleagues, friends and, in many cases, people whose courage and dedication were witnessed first-hand.
They were some of the bravest people the United Kingdom has ever produced. Their service came at an enormous personal cost, and the dangers they faced day after day were very real.
Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II recognised that extraordinary courage when the entire Royal Ulster Constabulary was collectively awarded the George Cross — an honour that reflects the remarkable bravery and sacrifice of the force as a whole.
Sadly, many of those who served in the RUC GC are no longer with us.
But we make it our business to ensure they are never forgotten.
Through our commemorative frames, we remember their service, their sacrifice and the lives of those who stood on the front line during some of the most difficult years in our country’s history.
We Will Remember Them.
