A Very Special Shout Out ❤️
Heading to Scotland with your peers and teachers is a pretty big deal for any of our Year 7 pupils, but there are two boys who deserve a very special shout out.
Can you imagine going on our Year 7 Scotland trip without anyone from your own class? Well, Byron and Matthew did exactly that!
Both boys are valued members of the Specialist Provision at Cookstown Primary School. Byron is a pupil in Mrs Gordon’s class, while Matthew is a pupil in Mrs McCartney’s class. Like many neurodivergent children, they can sometimes find new situations, busy environments and changes to routine more challenging. Despite this, they show great determination every day as they work to regulate their emotions, build their confidence and embrace new experiences. 💪🏼
What makes Byron and Matthew truly special is not only their determination, but also their unique perspectives, kindness and the joy they bring to those around them. 💙
It was a privilege to watch these two boys take on our Year 7 Scotland Trip with exceptional attitudes, a willingness to try everything and a determination to make the most of every moment - all while wearing big smiles on their faces. 😁
We are incredibly proud of both of them.
Byron and Matthew, you represented yourselves, your families and our school brilliantly.
Well done Byron & Matthew! 👏🏼
