Today is Orange Victims Day when we pause and take time to remember the 344 members of the Orange Institution who were murdered during the Troubles.

Today as the vast majority of Northern Ireland enjoy a welcome long bank weekend we have members of Sinn Fein IRA who have travelled over the border to Ballina, County Mayo to commemorate a group of Irish terrorists who committed su***de through starvation.

The most deeply concerning point is that Michelle O’Neill- the so called ‘first minister of all’ will be delivering the main oration. Ofcourse people have the right to honour their dead but should a first minister and other members of office of a British state be attending commemorations of terrorists who were a part of an organisation that murdered, shot, beat, kidnapped and bombed almost 2000 people throughout their decades long murder campaign and still be expected to do their job for a state which they do not even want to exist?

Instead of remembering these men for their ‘brave sacrifice’ it is important to remember these men were not innocent civilian’s but criminals.

Bobby Sands- arrested in 1972 for possessing 4 handguns and again in 1977 for possessing a revolver after a bombing and shooting battle with the RUC in Dunmurry.

Francis Hughes- Murdered a British soldier and shot and wounded another in 1978 near Maghera County Londonderry.

Raymond McCreesh- arrested for attempted murder of British soldiers, possession of a rifle and ammunition and IRA membership. The rifle he had in his possession was used in the Kingsmills massacre a year previous where 10 Protestant civilians were brutally murdered.

Patsy Ohara- in 1976 he was arrested for possession of a weapon, 1977 for holding a Garda at gunpoint and finally in 1979 for possessing a hand Gr***de.

Joe McDonnell- was arrested along side Bobby Sands after a bombing and shooting battle with the RUC in Dunmurry.

Martin Hurson- was convicted for 3 land mine attacks in County Tyrone against British forces. Luckily they all resulted in no deaths.

Kevin Lynch- member of the INLA he was tried, convicted and sentenced to ten years for stealing shotguns, taking part in a punishment shooting and conspiring to take arms from the security forces.

Kieran Doherty- in 1976 Doherty set out to plant a bomb as he fled from the RUC in a van he ditched it and hijacked a car. He was convicted of possessing fi****ms and explosives and hijacking a car.

Thomas McElwee- was arrested for his part in a bombing blitz in Ballymena in 1976 which saw a young mother Yvonne Dunlop murdered infront of her young child.

Michael Devine- one of the founding members of the INLA Devine was charged with the theft of rifles, shotguns and possession of 3,000 rounds of ammunition.

Micheal Gaughan- was on a fund raising mission for the IRA and robbed a bank in London, he was also caught with two revolvers.

Frank Stagg- was a commanding officer of the IRA along with a priest. They were arrested and convicted for planning bombing attacks in Coventry.

Not model citizens in my eyes or any law abiding citizens eyes. Morally blind Sinn Fein believe these men should be commemorated for their ‘brave sacrifice’ but I will always remember them for what they are- terrorists and criminals who spat the dummy from the pram because they got caught breaking the law.

Wishing all sir knights, bands men and spectators a safe and enjoyable last Saturday.

⛔️ Muir must go! ⛔️

The message from the agriculture industry and the farming community was crystal clear today- an investigation and report into the slaughter of 51 healthy cows and calves is not suffice! If a farmer committed the acts the Muirs department sanctioned they would be in handcuffs and in jail!

Andrew Muir, Katrina Godfrey and Brian Dooher MUST GO!

TUV condemn O’Neill for commemorating Yvonne Dunlop’s killer

Statement by TUV Cookstown representative Timothy Hagan:

“Last Sunday saw another demonstration of why Sinn Fein/IRA remain unfit for government as Michelle O’Neill took part in an event commemorating Thomas McElwee in Mid Ulster.

“A handful of Republicans gathered in a graveyard to pay tribute to a man who was only ever in the Maze because of his role in the firebomb attack which claimed the life of 26 year old mother of three Yvonne Dunlop.

“Among those who gathered were convicted IRA terrorist Ian Milne and Emma Sheerin who gave an address.

“Most telling, however, was the presence of the self style “First Minister for all”, Michelle O’Neill. One cannot claim to represent all the people of Northern Ireland and spend your Sunday lauding someone who robbed a family of a wife and a mother as a hero.”

Mid Ulster TUV branch chairman Glenn Moore said:

“The people of Mid Ulster are not strangers to the glorification of Republican terrorists. However, given the nature of McElwee’s crimes this is particularly obnoxious. Northern Ireland is never going to move on until we reach a point where there is thought and consideration for victims of terrorism. Glorifying a character like this sends completely the wrong message to the upcoming generation.”

North Antrim MP Jim Allister added:

“The murder of Yvonne Dunlop has left a deep and lasting scar on Ballymena. Those alive at the time remember it vividly while ironically new generations learn of the IRA’s depravity every year due to the twisted Republican obsession with commemorating McElwee.

“This is far from the first time when Michelle O’Neill has been called out for commemorating this monster. In fact, on the day she was shamefully elevated to the position of First Minister by the DUP agreeing to partner her in government I reminded the Stormont chamber of exactly these sorts of commemorations of the vile McElwee.”

Timothy Gaston MLA concluded:

“For months we have been told that the flagship policy of the Executive Office is ending violence against women and girls. Yet here we have the joint head of that Office commemorating a man who killed a woman.

“That is the sort of twisted and depraved government Stormont has brought us. However, with every event of this nature there are a growing number of people who are turning against Stormont as an institution and the central role which people like Michelle O’Neill have been gifted within it.”

10/08/2026

Who do the representatives that attended this commemoration represent?

They certainly do not represent me, the peaceful electorate in Mid Ulster nor the victims of IRA terrorism- instead they glorify it!
