Residents at MUST Hostel have been transforming their back garden ahead of summer, bringing colour, creativity and care to the space.

As part of the project, residents have hand-painted a series of vibrant bird boxes, now installed throughout the garden, each adding a unique touch and sense of ownership.

The garden is also beginning to flourish, with vegetables, fruit and flowers starting to grow, with plans for produce to be used in meals within the service — supporting routine, wellbeing and community.

This is an ongoing project, with more to come over the summer months. We look forward to sharing further updates soon.

A huge well done to everyone involved — a great example of creativity and teamwork.

Yesterday we shared a truly special service at the hostel, and it meant so much to everyone involved.

We took time to reflect on the year we’ve had the challenges, the progress, and the resilience shown by our residents and staff and to look ahead with hope and positivity for 2026.

The afternoon was made even better by lovely food, great company, and plenty of singing, which brought such a warm atmosphere. The raffle was a real highlight too amazing prizes and lots of smiles all round.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the service, prepare the food, donate raffle prizes, and take part. Moments like these remind us of the strength of our community and why this work matters so much. 💙

This Homelessness Awareness Week, we want you to look beyond the headlines and see the people staying right here in our hostel. Homelessness is not a statistic; it’s a human issue. Every individual has a name, a story of struggle, and an absolute right to safety, dignity, and support.

From our experience, we see daily how the lack of a secure home devastates mental health. Housing is foundational to healing and rebuilding.

Change starts with you. Choose to , challenge the stigma, and support our collective effort for better services and stronger housing solutions across Northern Ireland.
