⭐ A Visit from Our Sector Commander ⭐

Last week, we were delighted to welcome our Sector Commander, Sqn Ldr Reagan, to 2506 (Corsham) Squadron.

During his visit, Sqn Ldr Reagan spent time with our staff and cadets, gaining an insight into our current activities, discussing future sector priorities with the Officer Commanding, and exploring how we can continue to contribute to the wider sector.

Despite being in the middle of the summer holidays, it was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from our cadets, who were fully engaged in their training and development.

On the final parade, Sqn Ldr Reagan had the pleasure of presenting a number of badges and certificates, recognising cadets who had successfully completed their First Class and Leading Cadet training. 🎖️📜

Sqn Ldr Reagan said:

“I was pleased to visit 2506 (Corsham) Squadron this evening and spend time with the staff and cadets. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the squadron’s current activity, discuss future sector priorities with the Officer Commanding, and explore how the unit can continue to contribute to and support wider sector objectives.

Despite the summer holiday period, it was particularly encouraging to see such a strong turnout from the cadets. Observing them fully engaged in their training and development highlighted the commitment and enthusiasm that exists across the squadron. It was a privilege to recognise a number of cadets during the final parade by presenting badges and certificates in acknowledgement of their hard work, achievements, and continued progression. My congratulations go to each of them on their well-deserved success.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to WO Watling, the staff team, and all the cadets for their warm welcome, dedication, and the significant effort they invest in making the squadron such a positive and thriving environment. Their commitment is a credit to both the unit and the wider organisation.”

A huge well done to all our cadets who received their certificates and badges, and a big thank you to our staff team for their continued dedication and support. 👏

We’re incredibly proud of the commitment and enthusiasm shown across the squadron — keep up the fantastic work! 💙

✈️ Flying Day with 2 AEF! ✈️

Yesterday, 6 cadets from 2506 Squadron took to the skies with 2 Air Experience Flight for an unforgettable day of flying.

For some, it was their very first time in an aircraft, while others were lucky enough to experience the thrill of aerobatics!

It was a fantastic opportunity for all involved, and a great day was had by everyone. A huge thank you to the team at 2 AEF for making it such a memorable experience.

On Friday 19th June, 2506 Squadron held a ceremonial parade to celebrate the Squadron’s formation towards the end of last year.

The Reviewing Officer for the parade was Wing Commander Church, Officer Commanding Dorset & Wiltshire Wing, who was accompanied by Wing Commander Watt and Squadron Leader Regan.

During the parade, the Squadron’s new banner was formally dedicated by the Squadron and Wing Padres before being proudly marched past in front of parents, family members, and local RAFA members.

The parade was a fantastic occasion, and all of the cadets did the Squadron proud. This marks the beginning of an exciting future for 2506 Squadron, with many bigger and better things still to come.

We’re very sorry to let you know RIAT will not be taking place this year.

We know how much the event means to so many of you—our visitors, volunteers, partners, and the wider RIAT community. We fully recognise how disappointing this news will be.

The whole team at Douglas Bader House, and across the wider organisation, has worked tirelessly over the past 10 months to bring this year’s show to life. We have had to take this difficult decision following extensive discussions with the Royal Air Force and the United States Air Force regarding uncertainty over access to RAF Fairford, given the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

We’ll be in touch again by the end of May with details regarding your RIAT26 tickets. At that point you will be offered three options:

· Roll over your tickets to RIAT27
· Request a full refund
· Donate the value of your ticket to the RAF Charitable Trust

In the meantime, you can find further information and updates on our website and FAQs page: https://www.airtattoo.com/

Thank you for your loyalty and ongoing support as a member of the RIAT community. It genuinely means a great deal to us.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027.

—— Corsham 10K ——

Our cadets were proud to be out in the local community today, supporting the Corsham 10K Run by assisting at the first water station on the route.

Throughout the event, the cadets helped hand out water to runners as they passed, showing great teamwork, enthusiasm, and community spirit while supporting everyone taking part.

Before the race began, the cadets also enjoyed watching the impressive parade of classic cars, which was a great way to begin the day.

Once the runners had passed and the work was done, the cadets found a fun use for the leftover water by giving CI Foster a refreshing end to the day!

Well done to all of our cadets who volunteered and represented the squadron so well.
