Unfortunately in the past couple of days someone has reversed into the fence by the entrance to the park. Of course it could be anyone turning round at the top of the hill and getting it wrong, and we might never know. If it is someone from the village we would really welcome it if you can contact us about it. The fence was funded by a grant awarded a few years ago to the playing field committee and it isn't just a matter of the council fixing it. Thank you.

Pleased to have the signage in place for our new solar system in the playground shelter, hot off the press from Corwen Graphics today. The system includes 12V battery storage and publicly accessible low voltage USB charging outlets as well as an LED light on a sensor for those darker evenings. The outlets are there for parents and children to use for their devices, and we hope the signage has some educational value for the children about renewable energy.

We were disappointed to hear reports recently of at least one person from the village exercising dogs in the playground, including when children are playing. This may explain why quite frequently we have also found what we'd assumed to be poo from a wild animal on the grass. We would like to remind everyone that no dogs are allowed within the boundary of the park at any time even if they are under control / friendly / on a lead etc. There are no exceptions. These rules are the same as other play areas and are clearly mentioned on the signage.

On another matter we have also been alerted that the surfacing around the play equipment, which is made from recycled rubber, does sometimes cause marks to kids clothing and footwear. This can especially be the case after long periods of sunny dry weather as the rubber marks more easily when it is hot and dry. Although these marks do wash off, please be mindful of this if your kids are wearing new clothes or footwear, especially in light colours.

If you have visited the playground in the last year or so, you will probably have noticed the sound posts, which we obtained some time ago with assistance from the AONB. These have now been loaded up with some bilingual information about our local wildlife, specifically the Red Kite and the Curlew. Next time you are in the park, press the buttons and have a listen.
